He is totally like a lab. He's super funny and clumsy and definitely has a lot of energy because he can play all day. He doesn't bark a lot at all and when he does, it's only when some one is at the door. I guess one of the biggest challenges that we have is him not backing off when a dog seems like it doesn't want to play. He likes to persist in making other dogs play or chase him and sometimes when it is with the wrong dog, he still doesn't back away; and with that, it can lead to him getting hurt. So we're still trying to teach him to back away when a dog gives him those signs. Other than that, there aren't many other challenges. He learns pretty fast and if we have food, he'll do all the trick he knows lol! I hope that answered your questions. Feel free to ask me more if you think of additional ones ^^

You're gonna regret giving me the leeway! I was also wondering how he does with strangers? He's super playful with other dogs but is he a little timid with people he doesn't know? Also, what worked for you in terms of training/behavior stuff vs what didn't work?? And also, what was the easiest vs the hardest (potty training, chewing). Thank you for the rest of the info, it's super helpful :) I've wanted a dog forever and I finally have my own place and want to figure out if an aussiedor is right for me.

ahahaha I'm ready! He does GREAT with strangers because he loves people. Which can be a little hard sometimes when we walk him because he wants to go say hi to almost everybody. So with that, he isn't timid with random and new people at all. The training that we did wasn't too specific to the breed. We just did basic training like how you would any other dog. As a puppy, he was more toy and play motivated than food motivated, so we trained him using toys and play time as a reward (which worked really well). Now he's way more into food so we also give treats when training. For behavioral training, we just corrected him when he did something we did not want him to develop or do. Consistency is very important and try not to give your dog mixed signals because they can get confused and not really know what you want (I have a problem with consistency because I don't leave him alone long enough after correcting him, so he thinks he's okay and that I'm just playing. I'm still working on my consistency for sure). Being really nice and calm with correction didn't work for me because, again, he always just thought I was playing and not serious. So with that, he didn't improve much. lol My boyfriend is way better at training so I also got lucky because of that xD Some things we are still working on would be his eating habits and potting. He's pretty good now with holding his pee and poo until we get home but he does have some accidents when someone messes up his eating schedule; overall he's good but not perfect yet. He has a problem with eating everythingggg! He would also eat poop outside or just basically anything. We're still trying to train him not to eat poop or certain things. And so I guess the bad eating habits is the hardest right now. I'm so glad you're doing your research and asking questions! For sure every other dog is going to be different in their personality and habits. But it's good to get a general idea for sure! I know the excitement of getting a dog and I'm so excited for you! TRC4 my husband had a chocolate before and he said our Aussiedor sheds just like one. But overall, I guess it depends on how much of the two breeds does your dog take over. Haru is definitely more lab like :)

He’s for sure family friendly. He does so well with all of our nieces and nephews. He’s actually not super hyper. Pretty energetic but decent. He acts just like a lab
