All the actual cakes looked good (I consider ice cream cake to be ice cream and therefore disqualified), but the one I think I would find most tempting is Hameda's. That looked so good and her description was amazing.

The Aussies seem to be enjoying the cakes that are in front of them. We all hope to see them make more content like this.

i think it would be fun to watch each of you have to cook a meal (the same meal) based only on its name - with no further description, no recipe and no ingredients list. you would not have access to your phone or the internet and wouldnt find out what you are to be cooking until the challenge begins. ....i dont know if you would each start out in a grocery store having to buy the ingredients you think are in it ...or if there is a fridge and pantry full of the necessary ingredients, as well as a bunch of other groceries for each person to access. whoever's meal turns out most similar to what the dish traditionally tastes likes wins!

The best birthday cake I had was from a local bakery. It was a two-layer white vanilla cake with lemon curd filling in the middle and buttercream icing. I'm not a fan of grocery store cakes. They just don't taste good to me and they are usually made ahead and frozen and the icing tastes too manufactured. One from a small bakery typically tastes better. I never liked ice cream cakes for a birthday. Ice cream is something to have with the cake, not in place of the actual birthday cake. We have Dairy Queen and Carvel who make ice cream cakes and they are good, but I don't like them to be the cake for the party. I will just pass on a slice of those.

Coops, when it's one's birthday any kind of cake they want becomes a birthday cake. For me it's Pecan Cheesecake all the way, my favorite cake and pie in one dish :)

So... none of these are actual cakes. One is ice cream, the next is a pie, the third looks like it would taste nice but looks like a dog poo on a plate, and the last one is once again, a pie. So the chocolate one wins by default, even though it looks terrible.

It doesn't have to be cake it's about a celebratory sweet. As a kid my favourite thing was always the wookworths pecan danish with the custard in it and the icing drizzle. My siblings hated it so mum would just get a mud cake as well. Honestly screw them I was a fancy child with a refined palette 😂

i always hated icecream cake as a child. like first of all its not even cake, and then secondly it's not really that great icecream. sorry!! if i wanted to win a 'best cake' comp i'd go for a rich dark chocolate cake with a jam in it. but my actual fave cake is lemon cake!
