I learnt to fly in an earlier J-1N Auster in 1963. No fancy electric start then, you had to start it by hand on the prop. Great aircraft to learn on. Fond memories. Went solo two days after my 17th birthday.

Back in the 70s I once saw one with its wings folded back in a big shed at the back of a pub in Darlaston, the pub is long gone I often wonder what became of the Auster.

Hi John, thanks for the comment, yes, both that you mention would be good to build, particurally the Flybaby, just looked at plans on Outerzone and there was one with floats for water, now that would be cool!

Esa hélice impulsa el dinamo / generador de electricidad. La mayoría de estos motores gipsy no traían toma de fuerza para generador o alternador, con suerte para arranque como este ejemplar. Por lo mismo la solución de la época fue montar un pequeño dinamo/generador en el ala con una hélice, para asi cargar las baterías una vez en marcha. Así mismo lleva tubos venturi para generar vacío para los instrumentos, al tampoco tener bomba de vacio. Espero sirva la información
