To be fair, it's DSBM, the genre, like it ever was. Like Woods of Desolation, Thy Light, Nocturnal Depression, to name a few, which i also much like. Atmospheric BM is different, like Drudkh, Agalloch, Panopticon, Caladan Brood, Wolves in the throne Room, etc....which i also love much, those bands...
@@marcp.1752 good, while we're about to know everything better; agalloch is a blackgaze band. and austere is melodic black metal, i would say it is already post-black metal or almost crustcore, which also sounds very emotional and sometimes gazy (magoth, minenwerfer, downfall of gaia, dödsrit, iskandr, old ulver).
@@Lennart.R.LK.Bonsai Agalloch is never, not blackgaze. It's progressive, folk, pagan, post BM. Blackgaze, shoegaze is something more like Alcest. And it doesn't matter anyway - because some pplalways try to put everything, and -anything into a stereotypical drawer, i am listening since pale folklore to Agalloch, end of story.
Lyrics: Entangled within cerecloth dreams Written by an orchestra conducted by dread This curtain, falls aphotic and silent Lifeless, Listless, Solemn, Sullen This curtain, falls aphotic and silent Lifeless, Listless, Solemn, Sullen Reverence, repent Stern and cold yet never to yield Always. never. Wedded to the wretched veil Cast my heart aside, Like stone upon the emerald waters Sinking so deep into eternal unknown Burt pages sway Hung by winds draped in despair Feed me with the ash of burnt dreams Entangled within cerecloth dreams Written by an orchestra conducted by dread This curtain, falls aphotic and silent Lifeless, Listless, Solemn, Sullen This curtain, falls aphotic and silent Lifeless, Listless, Solemn, Sullen Burt pages sway Hung by winds draped in despair With the ash of burnt yet unforgotten dreams
@@RobboElRobbo I'd wish for John Haughm would bring Agalloch fucking back ! It felt like a death into the family, back into 2016, when he laid the band to rest.
It's amazing to see you two with Paolo and Eklatanz joining in for the Live performances. This sounds exactly like what I expected and it's soul-soothing. Classic Austere signature sound. Amazing. Can't wait to hear the full album!
Somehow metal knows what I need mentally..I just recently fell ill to covid and I needed dark to bring all the sad emotions to the surface. Thank you austere..
Ja verdammt, darauf habe ich viele Jahre gewartet und endlich ist es so weit! Und es ist wirklich gut geworden, ohne dabei auf der Stelle zu stehen. Mir gefällt es.
Yeah it was. Amazing gig, didn't expect the whole cave to sing along to Just for a Moment, though it didn't ruin the atmosphere. Must be a German thing :D
AMAZING ART... I LOVE, I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THIS BAND FROM BEGINNING... AS IT WAS AT BEGGINING... AUSTERE. FUCKING AMAZING SOUND... BEAUTIFUL... AWESOME... AUSTERE!
I thought I recognized that riff. The sound and feeling is so similar to To Lay Like Old Ashes. Only after the rhythm and drums join in do you hear and feel the new Austere.
I am listening since 2009 to Austere, "To lay like old Ashes", since then, i am hooked. It was the same with Agalloch, 1999 to "Pale Folklore". I love atmospheric, melodic BM, also DSBM way much. Without it, perhaps i'd have gone...after serveral messy incidents during the years.
After listening to it for 2 days non stop i would say this is one of my top 5 Austere songs ever, i like the new vocals approach, kinda still adjusting to it but sounds great as a fresh take and i really like the little reminiscence of the old vocals style in the middle of the song, the instrumental is just insane, the composition and production is incredible by all means, glad to see you back after so many years.
Austere drummer should get pissed because you cant hear anything lol. Or is it Prophecy records regim to make Austere as marketable at all? Also where are the Austere niche vocals at? Is it even Austere anymore ? :(
Can't believe I'm gonna say this but I enjoyed a lot more the live peformance of the song at Dark Bombastic. Somehow it sounded darker, much more sorrowful and bleak.
