One of the most influential voices in comedy, Jerrod Carmichael is set to host the 80th Annual Golden Globe® Awards.
The three-hour telecast serves as the official kickoff to the 2023 awards season and will air live coast-to-coast on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on NBC and Peacock.
The Golden Globe Awards is one of the biggest nights on the calendar for live viewing. It's also one of the few awards shows that combines the honorees of both film and television.
Produced by Dick Clark Productions and Jesse Collins Entertainment in association with the HFPA, the Golden Globe Awards are viewed in more than 210 territories worldwide. Helen Hoehne is president of the HFPA. Jesse Collins and Dionne Harmon will serve as executive producers.

I've seen a few of the roundtables he's been on leading up to the Golden Globes and he's that type of person. Always in awe of who's around him. Yes beautiful speech! & Austin has actually been around for years since I was little (I’m 25 now) he’s 31 and he was most known to be in Zoey 101 & has been in Wizards of Waverly Place, icarly, Dunes 2, Sharpayms Fabulous Adventure, switched at Birth, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (with Leonardo & Brad Pitt), aliens in the attic. This young man earned this, he submerged himself into this role for over two years and it paid off. Which brings me to my next point, his voice, people need to understand that he went so deep with this part, lived it for so long that he lost himself a little, he's having trouble losing the twang at times. But his very low natural speaking voice is damn near, octively, similar to Elvis' anyway, he can't help that.

Like Gladys Presley, Austin's mother was his biggest supporter when he was starting out in his career. It's a shame she wasn't there to see him win that night. Elvis' love for his "mama" has been spoken of a lot. Close friends say he wasn't the same when Gladys died. "My hope has gone!" he'd said.

I'm here after reading the sad news about Lisa Marie's death. I am very impressed she was just at this event and now she is gone. Elvis is my idol, and it is very sad that his only daughter is gone. The morning after I heard Lisa Marie had died, I had an Elvis song stuck in my head for some reason. "Moody Blue." I couldn't believe it when I heard she'd died, just like so many Elvis fans couldn't believe it when they heard he had died.

Actually listen to Elvis. Not at all alike. Yes he stutters now. That is it. No accent. Elvis had a distinct southern accent and spoke softly. Not deeply. Very different

lmao all of you just hating on him for his voice is really getting tiring. YOU try doing something for a role for 3 years - changing the way you speak, tone and accent for so long (with a voice coach), you think it's so easy to change back and return to normal? he's stated that it's been hard to find himself again after the role ~ can't you guys look up his interviews and read on it? 3 years! studying and listening to elvis nonstop... give the dude a break

My mom and I watched Elvis so many times and every time we watch it, I always say that there’s no way he’s not getting an award. This was truly deserved and I will continue to watch Elvis and listen to his songs everyday!!!

he's been training for this for more than 2 years... voice coaching, listening to tapes of Elvis singing, laughing, talking... practically studying Elvis, every day for two years. It's not easy to shake off I imagine. Give it time

Before you come at Austin for his voice, please remember this man had to train his voice like he was training to be in the nfl. Production started in 2020, so that is over three years practicing and being elvis. That’s hard to break Side note: the music playing over his speech was just rude af. I know they have to keep the show going but damn

Heartfelt acceptance speech, still sounding like Elvis using "My boy, my boy" opening phrase that Elvis used in his 68 Comeback Special, "Oh my boy, oh my boy." LOVED his performance and he nailed Elvis in the biopic. Great film. He is so deserving of Best Actor. Hope he wins the Academy Award as well. You can see how touched Pricilla and Lisa Marie were listening to his speech. Such a touching moment.
