I've always been sad to see longbridge close. The retail park, to me, is not a fitting successor to it, but the college I feel is a good thing. Providing training and employment prospects to the coming generations is laudable. While Longbridge shouldn't have been allowed to close, but the actual factory required millions of pounds of repairs, maintenance that was long overdue, and a good percentage was derelict and surplus to use. Once MG Rover closed, it wasn't a shock that no other company decided to take up the use of the factory as offered for a while. A shame all around.

Brummies need jobs. There should be no unemployment in the West Midlands due to the massive companies that were situated there. Rover, Lucas, GKN, IMI, Goodyear, LDV, Metro Cammell, Dunlop, HP, Typhoo etc etc. But, of course, the London politicians didn't fight to save our jobs and our history and our power.
