Houston, Texas was surrounded by acres and acres of farmland, which was in the process of becoming mid-century suburbs. In the year of 1961 my parents moved us from the heart of the city into one of those new developments. Sometime along about 1965 or 6, my friends and I discovered an old automobile chassis in a patch of remaining undergrowth where we played. I dragged it out and dragged it home. My father identified it as being from a "Baby Austin" that had been re-purposed as a farm wagon. Us kids spent hours dreaming that it would become just such a dream machine as you have, sir! Bravo!

What Ian needs for an ex can is a Brooklands can fishtail, like all the 20s/ 30's style racers, that 'foreign body in Mary Janes engine was probably dropped down the o'le when you did the carb, I know as I have done exactly the same, maybe a check ball out of the carb? Good video as always. Ian looks and sounds great - can't wait to see it in real life. I do thiunk that the elbow guards Dale suggested might be a good idea. I once had a valve head drop off in a VW (many many years ago!) and the damage that caused was somwhat greater than the little bit of metal in Mary Jane. One new piston, one new valve, new rings, and two evening's works to smooth out the dents in the head and rebuild. All good fun!

He'd just clutch it and rev the snot out of it 'til it blew out through the exhaust valve, and continue on his merry way. No worries. It did it about 2 blocks away from the house of the bloke he was selling the car to. Problem solved and no more worries [for my mate, anyway]😜

Ur vids have gave me the idea of a old herald engine an box into a 49 lanchester ld10 six lite. That's got cable brakes on. The original idea was mgb axles (V8 rear axle) and a Pontiac 6.6 an autobox on box section chassis. But thanks to Ur vids a 50hp herald lump will get her back out and about. I'm not working now so the chassis build for the V8 has stalled threw lack of funds. But found the hearld engine an box under a mates work bench so was basically free. (Little trading for bits I had he wanted lol) now all I need is some seats that look the part an some 16 tyres. On an a engineer to make me a prop that fits. I'd love to buy some merch or donate to the chip jar but I'm piss poor. Keep up the good work 😊.
