I've been desperately trying to get my Dolomite 1850 in good order to drive it there. Will be the first show I've taken it to. By the way, I couldn't open the driver's door either from the inside or outside when I got it last year..seeing your trouble with the Reliant amused me. Just put a new brake servo in at the weekend and fresh brake fluid.
Your channel is so much better than Hub nut aka bring back Rachel, furious nerd and I drive a sh-t box. They are making a living out of their increasingly dull and repetitive endeavors - you could be twice as good. Keep them coming.
I drove 661 Miles in my Rialto around Scotland in 4 days. It wasn't that painful mainly because it's almost in factory condition and with recently refurbished seat cushions. Surely not that bad.
Good to see you back bud, was wondering what was happening. Doesn't the moggy van deserve a new exhaust system? Do you no longer have the moggy that you changed the timing chain, brake light switch etc? What about your brother's MGB? I wouldn't like that journey in the plastic pig! 🚙
It’s good to be back! The van will get a new exhaust system, it’s very solid other than one hole, so for now it’s a temporary fix. I still have the blue saloon, running very well but need’s welding. My brother’s MGB would be a good one, but still has a few small things that need sorting before a long journey… so that leaves the Reliant!
Starts like my 13 year old Panda, never in doubt, running sweetly now. Praying the V5 comes for you. I'd have gone to Rustival but its a 600 mile round trip for me, too much for one day and a show in between unfortunately. I've been to a HubNut event and met him, Carly and Steph from I drive a classic, genuinely lovely people and gutted not to be going.
I'd pray to the patron saint of bureaucrats for your V5 to arrive fast, but there isn't one, so I can't. Anyway, good luck with that whichever vehicle you use. Will you be going on cross-country A-roads or taking the motorway?
When did you send off for the V5? Just wondering cos I have to do something similar with a project. Was it just an updated keeper from previous V5? Or did you have to apply for one as it was missing?
Sadly there was no V5 with it when I acquired it, so I had to apply. It did exist on the dvla site (type in the reg it the details were there), but it has been two months since sending the application off.
Surely if your V5 is on its way, they have ownership details and you aren't strictly speaking breaking the law by driving it? Looking forward to your Rustival report anyway, whichever vehicle you take. Not possible for me to go this time unfortunately. Would really have loved to have gone as have been a Hubnut fan since his very early petrolhead hippy days 😄Sure there will be future events though!
Unfortunately without the V5 I can’t ’tax’ it… so I would be driving an untaxed vehicle, and the authorities don’t like that much… good thought nonetheless, and I’m sure there will be future events like this.
@@badgerlodgegarage You have to 'tax' a tax exempt vehicle, really?!! Oh well! Can see your problem. May still arrive in time, fingers crossed. All the best anyway!
Was going to suggest the same, insure it on the chasis number and registration if the v5 is "in thd post" So without the tax reminder reference number or v5 is it worth phoning dvla and asking if they can give you the log book number so you can "tax it"?
It may be worth phoning dvla and having a chat with them I’m sure they gave me a reference number once to tax.a herald or did it while I was on the phone with them, worth a punt as nothing lost in trying to
No problem! The V5 is the official ‘log book’ that is required for every vehicle in the UK. It contains the chassis number and owner information, as well as other vehicle specific information. You can’t tax a vehicle without one.
