@@brandonpatel3121 Keefe puts Nylander, Matthews, Marner or JT, Matthews, Marner when they need extra firepower for a short time because it takes away from the rest of the team. Hyman Matthews Nylander is the better full time line for the team.
for sure. but now with that contract he’s got everyone now is expecting way more out of him, and it’s safe to say that he’s making good on that contract
From a Nux fan, Matthews has always been one of my favourite player players since entering the league... reminds me of primo Geno Malkin! Incredible player to watch when he’s on his game!
As a leaf fan, I feel the same about hughes... kids amazing. Not to mention Petterson. Too bad leafs and nucks supposed to hate each other cause I love your team 😂
il_bambino96 ik i feel the same. lately ive just felt lost and clueless on what to do other than make videos. no sports or anything entertaining to pass the time. watched a bunch of shot on Netflix and ur boy is bored af
Crazy that he wasn’t even scouted for his incredible shooting ability, he’s just a fantastic player, but his shot seems to overshadow the rest of his skills in the eye of the public
Unpopular Opnion... Matthews looked sleeker, smoother and faster in the first 3 years of his career. Lighter weight, shorter stick and slick hands to score. He looks bigger now and utlizing that slapper more. He scores at will but for what it's worth he was buttery in the first 3 years.
im a sens fan and the 2nd goal he scored against us is one of his grossest. between hoffmans legs, pickpocket karlsson and then a nifty wrister five hole that looked like the most unorthodox shot ever. u cant even time the release it just comes off his stick
There was an interview with a player from I think it was a pens player who said it's the team's lack of defensive play. He said the forwards need to back up the defence in their own zone. He talked about how big a problem it was for them and how it takes a long time to make it work. They have been doing this and trying to make the defensive play work with the offensive play is the main issue now. Once they can get the two systems working together they will be almost unstoppable. It's not as much a problem with the players they have as it is having a system that works together allowing them to go from good defensive play from centre ice back to great offensive play from centre forward. It doesn't sound like much but that's where 90% of the work is for most teams.
@@Danny9 Best Wrist shot ever.. I've seen all the Greats since the early 80's. I literally LOL, every time I see Matthews score and the puck is coming out of the net before the Goalie even moves. One guy had it right. "Just not fair"
Tarasenko Laine and Kovalchuk are right there with him. It's definitely close. Ovechkin probably has the heaviest wrist shot I've ever seen, although his release isn't as quick as those guys.
I like Craig Simpson but, ya, I was watching this game and thought, what?...an absolute fire? wtf does that mean??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My fave is the o/t winner against Chicago up by the goalie’s ear.
I was at my first nhl game for the dallas toronto game on the last clip.i was right over matthews shoulder when he shot it. i had a birds eye view of matthews shooting it and it sailing into the net. I was sitting just above the led light bar that goes around the ring. it was a tough loss but watching matthews do his magic like that was a win for me.
same. i hate the team in terms of rivalries and the history of the battle of ontario but when u look closer at the players it’s hard to not like them. Me personally, auston, Willy, mitch, freddy anderson, zach hyman and JT are the only ones on the leafs that I love
@@zachf5076 the three of them combine for about 14 mill right now and JVR & bozak said they were willing to take a pay cut to stay in Toronto. So we lost 3 depth guys to 1 second line Center that makes 11 mill a year....stupid move if you ask me
@@tk68 you’re wrong, they make a combined 16.5 million. Not to mention JVR still has 3 years left at 7 mil. Keeping those 3 would’ve kept the leafs stagnant and created tons of cap issues. Tavares and Nylander > those 3
@@zachf5076 never said anything ab nylander, his contracts great. Kadri makes 4.1 mill, Bozak makes 4.2 mill, and JVR makes 7 mill. Combining for 15.3 mill. Compared to Tavare’s 11 mill. And like I said JVR and bozak said they’d take discounts to stay. Their contracts are only so high cuz they went to whoever was a contender paying the most.
