I had a gun license many years ago (pistol and rifle), when the license was inexpensive (and it was PROMISED it would remain that way), but it soon became too expensive once I retired from full time work, and actually had the time to do more shooting. The continual increases in licensing costs, which were only supposed to recover administration costs, have forced many upstanding individuals on a restricted income, away from the sport they loved. It seems to me the cost was/is used to minimize the number of licensed shooters to as few as possible.
It's doesn't seem to be, that's exactly what they are doing. Disarming the populace as much as possible. You can fill in the why as to why they'd do that
It is not that difficult for the Lebanese in Sydney to get a gun. They just go to their dealer and get it. My lebanese friend got mine from his dealer, and the transaction took place at a mosque.
Great info. The statement of eligibility time frame can be as long as the time for licence takes. Had a statement of eligibility and a AB submitted roughly the same time. Both took 36 weeks. 2 years.ago. i believe time frames have improved. Had to redo safety course as the 12 month lapsed by 2 weeks once you add in the probation time as mentioned.
Thanks for posting Excellent video explaining the law. I was a member of a Pistol Club years ago. Seems nothing has changed. I had different classes and calibre. Endless range time . Our indoor range closed so had to shoot at Belmont range which was primitive and not as safe so I surrendered my licence and sold my guns.
Yes that is the point, it’s set up that actual enthusiasts are keen to do it so they’ll keep up with it. It means criminals and degenerates will give up.
Thank you youvery much, I have looking for information regarding how to be elegible to own pistol in queensland and you clearly explained the process. Cheers
There's also a heap of new changes coming guys things that will now exclude you from holding a firearms licence is undue noise in a motor vehicle as that is dangerous operation of a vehicle causing undue nose usually or how do they work it but the dangerous operation will exclude you now from holding a firearms licence just to name one of the absolute non salon non offences you could ever think of are now going to be detrimental .
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xil1JVyX-v8.htmlsi=TaiNM69_3Xzl6C3L ... yes old mate hear listed or really mentioned the ones that affect the firearms licensing ... I spent a good deal of time poking through all of the amendments and changes f****** egregious unesserary overreach grabs to end all tyranny ... from what I could tell there's nothing left to take
These aren’t changes these are already in effect. I was a license holder for 5+ years with 40 grands worth of firearms (cat AB + H) I had a few speeding fines and police came around with a revocation of lisence due to being an unfit member of society to hold a license. Firearms taken that day and put on consignment sale at the local gunshop. What a way to radicalise a bloke 🤙🏼
Really didn't want to shoot competitively just wanted to improve my accuracy without competing with other shooters......so gave up my membership of the club.
This is the biggest load of Bureaucratic bullshit on the planet, We used to get our Licence per Pistol in 2 weeks. I have heard people are waiting up to 12 months or more to get them , even for long arms.
If I am a club member and I was to attend a shooting range on my own accord does that attendance count as a shoot or does all shooting need to be at the club premises
Its kind of strange when we had only a few days of training on handguns in the military and we were considered proficient.... But step out into the civi world and its an entirely different scenario. Seems the entire system is set up to ensure clubs keep earning an income. Its also a means to ensure casual handgun owners are an extinct species. Thanks to ATN for the video very informative and well presented.
I held a licence on the Gold Coast in the early 90s. But one day at the club, when I ran in to 2 or 3 fellas behaving very poorly it soured my enjoyment enough for me to give up the hobby. I saw one guy give his skinny girlfriend one of those 454s with the stupid little Colt Peacemaker style grip, woefully inadequate for such a thumper when the shooter has low grip strength, and this guy laughed when the gun flipped so hard that his girlfriend shrieked and clouted herself in the face leading to copious bleeding from a scalp wound and probably a scar she seemed inconsolable after that but I can’t be sure because her boyfriend’s idea of consoling was laughing and saying “Awww come on! It’s not that bad!” THEN on the same day a guy with an M16 started yelling at a guy who was using an AK47 (both semiautomatic only, obviously) but M16 Man took exception to the fact that AK47 Man was firing from the hip. As their yelling increased I realised this was like a furious episode of road rage between two egotistical idiots who were both holding assault rifles. I love guns for the machines they are and the great fun of target shooting but I didn’t love them enough to be around fools like these and in my experience, for every keen hobbyist or professional who required a license there was at least one yobbo. I hope things have improved since then.
I may have missed it but can you do a shoot of 2 separate classes on the same day to count towards you shoot quota or does it have to be one class one day and another the next?
@Davidjbrad you must join a pistol club and be a member for 6 months before you can apply. To join a pistol club you must have the 515 form lodged at police if you do not have a ab long arms licence
@@armingthenationfirearmstra1942 thank you for replying ,i have been with a pistol club for over 8 months, the form 515 is that a statement of eligibility, or another form
Quick question me my 21-year-old son don't have any sort of licence. We want to get license, mainly for protection and maybe hunting. As we going into unknown times. What would the best way be to get a rifle licence and then a pistol. Do you have a video on this topic thank you Graham
you will need to do a safety course then you can apply for a licence mate. you can only have a firearm for sport target shooting or hunting never self protection in Australia with a firearm
Our country is so weak just like the UK every other country not a problem to arm yourself. An not just is it not a problem but it's your legal right to own a firearm to protect your family an self an belongings. Just the other night there was a thing on the news 7 young men broke into a house with knifes an baseball bat where a man an his family were sleeping. So you tell me what would you do if they stabbed your family to death I think that gives everyone something to think about. Enough said
