10 LH traces its history back to the Western Australian Mounted Infantry that fought in the Second Anglo Boer War. 10 LH was the Western Australian Light Horse Regiment that fought in Turkey and Palestine 1914-1918. In 1976 the Regiment by then riding M113s was reduced to a Squadron. In 2021 now riding the new Australian Hawkeye PMVL and Bushmaster PMV was raised again to Regimental Status. On 10 October 2021 this parade on the shores of the Swan River and through the streets of Perth was held to commemorate the occasion.
This video was prepared from the live stream by Defence PR by the Royal New South Wales Lancers Association as a tribute from the over easters to their sandgroper cousins. Sadly, the band was a bit far from the microphones. Some additional music of a cavalry/armoured flavour The Cavalier, Scipio and March of the Tanks is provided by the Royal New South Wales Lancers band. Marching Through Georgia, the 10 LH Regimental March, recorded by the Australian Army Band Perth is also used in places other than where it was played on parade.
Sit back and enjoy.
