"Australia Fair" is a Belgium made 73 key travelling Concert Organ made in Antwerp by Verbeek's Organ Works.(est. 1884) here is a link to the owners website, if interested in technical info or want to hire it www.streetorgan...
I saw this fascinating organ last year at the Easter Show in Homebush. I've tried to contact the owner to buy a CD or two but no reply. This type of music makes me feel like I've stepped back in time. The website for this organ is available and contains lots of info about the organ.
G'day, Yay Team ! The Belgian Makers began in 1884, but when was this one made (?) ; it has a bit of a Reproduction Retro New Manufacture sort of a feel to it. Back to the Future - We really are going backwards ! Have a good one. ;-p Ciao !
I suspect if I took the time to read that signage to the left of the machine, I would be able to answer that. Unfortunately, all the sights and sounds of the Royal Easter Show were rather distracting. I did try to google up some more info about it to no end. Certainly has been re-worked with modern AC motor and fitted with safety features to allow the operator to have it in a public space.
Ah, Cool, I see what you mean..., the Perspex Disc on the Flywheel for a start (once a Hand-driven Centrifugal Blower's Crank-Wheel ?). Have a good one. ;-p Ciao !
i just went through the Australia Fair website and could not find anything about the amount of keys. I got the 73 from another site that features the instrument at an annual event. Do you have more information? I will add the website from the owner to the descriptiom section
