Macrobusiness Chief Economist Leith Van Onselen says Australia should have “incredibly cheap” energy as a superpower, but due to policy failures, has some of the “most expensive energy in the world" instead.
“We export the line share of our coal, the line share of our gas, we’re an energy superpower," he told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“We should have incredibly cheap energy.
“Through policy failures we actually have some of the most expensive energy in the world, and as a result we have a whole congo line of manufacturers that are going broke or have warned they are going to exit Australia."

High energy prices in what should be the cheapest area of the world and all due to failed policies . more like intentionally corrupted policies .

Your respected guest predicts that this budget will not negatively impact the inflation, but he didn’t present any real evidence or data about the current economic situation and the future outlook. The reality is that when you do shopping you can see the prices has gone up or the quality of goods and services has been dropped, and it is very disappointing to see that the government insists on the policies which provokes the prices to hike more and more upward. For having a productive economy the energy costs should be lowered.

Over 60% of the land in Australia are Desert . Australia should try to sell more coal to China , and buy the Solar Panels from them in return . Install the Solar Panels in Desert areas only and generate a lot of cheap solar energy so as to enable Australia to become competitive in other industries . Cost of Solar Panels is dropping 10% / year and it is not wise to make cheap Solar Panels locally .

As Australians, we pay far too much for housing and rent, food costs are way too high for a country that produces most of our own food. Gas prices are far too high for a country that exports more than we use here at a cheaper price than Aussies pay. Electricity is way to high for a country trying to become almost 100% reliant on it as a main energy source. We have so many indirect taxes, council rates, tolls, and GST, which will be increased soon. Every time a product or service becomes more expensive, the government profits through indirect taxes. Governments don't want prices to fall, Charmers wants more productivity, yet they are expanding government size and becoming less efficient. If the government were a company theCEOo would be sacked, the shareholders would spill the board and find people who can make Australia great again. Cheaper energy from mix of sources, not one or the other. Stop the land banking property pozzi scheme. Put the money into lowering the cost of business across the board. Australian super should only be invested in Australia. Right now we need young new tradies, not degree-qualified barristers. All of the big issues are not new they have been there for decades, and governments have been asleep at the wheel for a long time. Why do Australians have to subsidise Chinese companies' suppliers to send cheap Chinese-made goods directly into the Austrian's homes? Australians are subsidising Australian Post to deliver parcels from China, killing small Australian wholesalers and retailers. it's only recently that they were required to pay GST. New Immigrants getting housing and jobs before residents, Importing unskilled so-called tradies, instead of training our own here, not just for one year but every year and into the future. Australia has an obsession of looking after everybody else's interests except our own, to look good on the world stage. Now we are becoming a shining example to the world of what not to do in housing and energy. These costs are forcing up wages to a point that it will be impossible to cost-effectively produce anything here. If the demand for our raw materials drops we are royally screwed, Our currency value will tank.

Who’s the “ federal government “ ??? Language/WORDS have all sorts of meanings when it comes to politics , Y is that ever asked how the word Human means MONSTER or something like person, citizen , public means WORTHLESS SLAVE etc… in the “ world of politics “ So then everything + anything to do with “ politics “ eg banks, medical, education, resources , juridical, property etc,,, pretty much everything that affects the people’s lives it’s a Roman Statute + certainly NOT ALLOWED LAWFUL etc… pure deception
