A Leyland OPD2 and an AEC Regent III were used over two days on 4/5 December, 1976 to farewell rear platform double deckers. The tour was run again in December 2016, 40 years later using one of the original vehicles.
thank you for share the beauty video my dad and mum use to work for NSW government transport at Randwick deport from 1950 to 1971 was mum and dad work from 1950 to 1989 on buses and trams
So many memories of these wonderful vehicles. I would often go to White Bay as a child and watch these negotiate the turn into Victoria Rd coming from the city. They would have quite a list to port and I would often see items such as prams and shopping buggies sliding off the rear platform. I even witnessed a conductor sliding along on his rear end after sliding off the platform. I believe he was negotiating the stairs and missed the hand rail. Thanks again for the memories.
@@busestramstrains5819 Ok. Interesting. After seeing the 1976 vision, I was expecting the 2016 to look too sharp, but was surprised how soft it looked.
I remember Albion and Regent on the front owl as I went to school in Strathfield in the 1950s. I thought at the time the coach work was standardised ……we’re the chassis and running gear standardised?? Stavros
