Wi have the building blocks on a good side. We need some changes though. As I said earlier, Athanaze isn’t ready. He will be in one or two seasons. We have two very weak openers and that sets back the side so much. Somehow Kraigg Brathwaite will not be dropped, although he only averages 34. So he will still be there. Tage has too many moving parts in his technique and is like a walking wicket. He should be given a rest. McKenzie is the real deal, undoubtedly. Da Silva bats way too low and should be opening or coming two down, as he has done for Trinidad and Tobago in FC cricket. Possibly Imlach from Guyana can come in and him or Da Silva can play as a pure batsman.

I told a couple of my friends that the Test won't last for three days but after watching Joseph and Mckenzie in the first innings I changed my thoughts but it seems like I have to return to my original opinion. (Three days it seems.)

The Windies played lovely strokes and reckless positive intent undid them. Head proved there was plenty in the pitch for batsmen: Whenever other Aussies struggle he looks at home, as he did in Brisbane vs SA and in this match. The pitch had plenty for both and Mark Waugh stated both sides could have scored circa 300. It was no "green mamba". Only Shamar made it seem so and if the batsmen had lent better support we might have been treated to the Windies for the first time in 20 years. Pitches have been impressive as classic bowling and strokeplay were present from both teams: Hazlewood was superb, Lyon & Cummins did plenty; Green created chances just with his catching; he gets dropped again and the convenor of selectors needs firing. Kudos Aussies, Windies DO BETTER as you can and should. I cannot wait to see Shamar & Roach with the pink ball and Lyon & Smith will hopefully surprise; Cummo, Josh & Head should be business as usual.

The main difference to me in this match is that,Australia bowlers are tall and get more bounce because of that and they are quicker.whist West Indies bowlers are shorter and has less speed

Head is an absolute game-changer for Australia. In the WTC final against India, he almost single-handedly took the game away from the opposition and in this game again, when the West Indies were getting some control, he scored a ton with a ravaging strike rate. Mind you, apart from him, no other batter had even scored a fifty ☔

I think we have reached the age or aggressive cricket. Where you will be successful only if you are attacking the other side. With each ball. Whether it be batting or bowling.
