Australian Helicopters Bell 412 [VH-VAU] start up and departure from Adelaide Airport's pad west with a medical crew on board. The aircraft departed to the North and not long after departing returned back to the pad for a landing. Most probable cause is that the emergency that they were responding to no longer required the helicopter's service.

I)n Germany we had this Helicopter from DRF in the Ambulance Service for Intensive Patients to transport from small Hospitals to greater Hospitals in Hannover,Berlin,Nürnberg.München,Regensburg... Flight Personal from German Air Rescue,Paramedics from Working Samaritian Organisation., Doctors from the Intensive Care Units at the Place the Helicopters where on Ground Station.. Greatings from an Franconian Paramedic near Nuernberg in BAavaria to Australia... Very great Video from this Heli... I have many fligts with this Heli in the Ambulance ... I knew the Englisch Words not for this ... In Germany we called it Lungenembolie,Herztransplantation, Polytrauma against Car Crashes... We where 24 hours on Scene ... Beginn 7 pm to 7pm at the next Day...At 2010 the 412 was changed to H145 from Airbus... und 2021 the new H145 with 5 Rotors is on the Scene...

So this video from August 2014 pops up in my feed in August 2024 & vh-vau is now operating from horn island in the north of Queensland as late as yesterday the 14th of august but will be replaced by a new AW139 which i think is up in north Queensland getting final touches done before starting operations in late August.

I don't think it's in to replace the current MAC Chopper, as much as I know it's complementing the current MAC chopper at the moment extra capability really... I think

Im an ex South Aussie from Wallaroo at the Yorke Peninsula and the MAC RESCUE company need to upgrade there service as it's a very small service. i now live in Essendon Victoria and Victoria have the best Service they have over 4 bases around the state and Essendon have there central base, HEMS have the most incredible service they have over 15 aircraft which are fixed wing and rotary such as the Aw139, Bell 412, As365,as565 Panther, Ec135 and the b200. and HEMS have a totally separate service which is the Police airwing, why do MAC have the police use a rescue service as a police helicopter which is a poor thing. Is there any news on a Helicopter upgrade for MAC RESCUE?

Joshua Hamdorf haven't heard anything about upgrades or expansion for the MAC rescue but I do know that RFDS maintains most of the medical situations around the state as we have 2 bases in SA, but for the choppers I don't really know.

Thank you and yeah I think the South Australian government needs to spend some money on new aircraft to attend more operations and put a few bases around the Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula as they always have rescue's down there.

Well, the Bell 412 technically has two propellers as well. I believe you meant two blades on the main rotor. You’re getting the 412 mixed up with possibly the Bell 214 or 212. Both the 214 and 214 have only two blades on the main rotor. A little more about these Bell helicopters to hopefully be able to allow you to clarify which one you meant, the Bell 214 is the same as the UH-1 Huey series used in Vietnam (models A-K). The Bell 212 is when they added another engine onto the 214 resulting in it commonly being referred to as the “Twin Huey”. Lastly, this model in the video is not a Huey at all. The 412 was the next development of the 212 and this is it in the video. This one is used by many Air Forces and services still today from Canada to the United Kingdom. It is also the same helicopter that you can see in this video of course. I hope the numbers weren’t too confusing and that you can understand a little more.
