It's such a privilege and a blessing to listen to Swamiji. I attended a 5 day Vedantham program here in the US that was started by one of Swamiji's disciple. I never thought a few weeks ago that I would ever read the Upanishads in my life. I am indeed blessed.

It's true, but people don't want to listen. I almost never talk about vedanta to anyone, because they're ignorant as a rock. People say they don't like religion because it's irrational, yet they're unwilling to listen to rationality.
I wish swamiji decorates India's currency notes in place of Gandhi. So very inspiring, possibly the next great person after Vivekananda to prop up our culture. Also appreciate the three hosts, erudite, unassuming, well prepared and keen listeners.

I absolutely love his infinite patience with the mundane nature of some of the interviewer's questions. The more one has realized their divinity, the kinder, more patient, and more compassionate they become. That is how you can know whether you are in the presence of a real Master or just someone talking out their ass.
There was nothing mundane about this interview. This is one of the best interviews of a mystic I’ve ever seen. The questions were very well thought out, especially from Purusottama regarding the legitimacy of Vedanta and Philosophy in modern Hindu culture. These questions were very challenging. Most priests, monks, theologians would not have been able to answer these questions as well as Chinmayanda did.

Swamiji was 1st for most vedantic scholar of the world at that time, you listen to swami ji in beyond put him as hindu, but as God gifted personality he teaches a great scientific knowledge which force to you think that who are you, "the knowledge of self" i.e.not for any religion, race ,caste, culture, but for every one. The veda, Vedanta, upnishad, puranas are not only hindu books but they have a vast knowledge of humanity, in view of scientific ways that reach to you mission of life. This religious man has no any religion, but he was beyond of religion. He was a great teacher for all.
the way Swamy Chinmayanand explains about so many Gods in Hinduism is eye opener for human beings everywhere, about humanity in general ;and survival of Hinduism in particular.
When interviews are set in such an opposing belief environment as this, it becomes an excellent example how a spiritual leader can shape himself in concordance to his surroundings yet remain untouched by the attacks of the opposition

That is one awesome talk on Hinduism and it's relevance in modern world. Vedanta is the highest spiritual philosophy that helps preserve this great religion for all these centuries.
Absolutely Amazing...Thousand Pranams to Pujya SwamiJI ...a wonderful orator and perhaps one of the greatest modern scholars of Vedanta. Whats more if you look at SwamiJi's life you will see that he not only taught Vedanta he actually Lived it. I see shades of all the great Acharyas from Adi Shankara to Vivekananda in him.
Just out of curiosity started listening this interview of Param Pujya Gurudev but couldn't stop till the end and thereafter also thinking on what he said here.
@29:48, one of the interviewers asks a very important question about the commonly held notion that Spiritual traditions are inward looking and hence apathetic to the concerns and problems of humanity at large. Swamiji provides a lovely reply: "We don't strut about saying that we are going to save the mankind and bring about every 25 years a total world war. If man individually can reduce his ego, his selfishness, just a little, the social order will automatically result."
How articulate and cogent was Swamyji in his arguments! Most of the questions asked by the academics are very typical questions we encounter in daily life. However, our knowledge of our scriptures is so pathetic that we are completely helpless when such arguments are made. We cannot afford to stay in oblivion any longer.....
Gurudev's clear answers are a joy to hear. Every word is so true to this day in 2023, even after so many decades. This is the truth that is everlasting 🙏

Clarity & Expression.Swamiji is mastered in it.When I watch Sadguru Jaggi Vasudevaya discourses to millions of people around world ...It's Swami Chinmayananda started revolutionising Hinduism with such debates.Seeking through meditation & Debates had always been core of Hinduism and results are eternal metaphysical nectars of Vedas,Upanishads & Puranas.All religions of belief system without rationale will die..so too the Abrahamic religions,but Vedanta or Sanatana Dharma will prevail.

Funny how life has come full circle. Being a non-believer, I went down a RU-vid rabbithole trying to understand the appeal of faith/religion and how different religions came about. And while looking into Hinduism, I'm glad I landed on this video. Such clarity of answers and such rationality I say funny, because my schooling was in Chinmaya and I'd be damned if the people running the school even understood what he stood for. The schools only focus was on blind practice of "rituals and devotion". If anything, studying here pushed me far far away from any form of religion and made me a non-believer. None of his rational teachings or philosophical part of hinduism were ever taught in school. If the mission truly aims to spread the deeper philosophical meaning, they should probably stop linking their name to primary schools and probably upload all of swamijis talks on RU-vid. He must surely turn in his grave if he knows what his schools impart in the name of Hinduism.
Amazing clarity of ideas! The natural flow of profound and universal insights leaves one speechless..... In fact, there is no difference among any part of humanity at spiritual level. All differences are acquired through merely cultural, geographical and historical influences. Yes those can surely be helpful but only as long as they serve the fundamental purpose of universal existence in harmony with nature.
The Indian guy who is questioning Swami is just harping on the distortion created by the colonialists and evangelists of 18th and 19th centuries. India always had 1000 different Jatis but the Britishers found it very difficult to control people under 1000 different Jatis. The word " Caste" itself was imported by the British from the Portuguese word " CASTA" (MIXED RACE). The race angle was imposed on Jati system by the British . Robert caldwell, the evangelist missionary of 19th century classified Indian people based on birth and changed the flexible quality based 4 varna system to rigid birth based varna system and demonized hinduism in that process. But the current generation of Indian fools in the form of Indian communists/socialists, pseudo-secularists, Indian media with their imported and fabricated communist ideologies from fools like Karl Marx and Max weber who never visited India, just blindly harp on the distorted version of history of Indian civilization created by their white colonial masters.

You said it right! Typical to modern educated Indians who are arrogant and having little humility.For long I was having doubt about this guy,later confirmed he is Indian.His questions,body language & language were all demonstrating it.

Swami did mention that those who wish to learn the Vedanta, even Christians or Muslims, can follow their own religions or isms, and still understand the philosophy and spirituality of the Vedanta.
