My father would question my siblings and flew into a rage when he saw me watching an Islamic video. A couple years later, when I told my father that I was going to get married, he refused to meet my husband. Now I wear hijab with my father, he loves my husband, and we even take him to halal restaurants Alhamdulillah. May Allah forgive our parents and guide them. May Allah forgive us and guide us all. Ameen.
I can imagine how difficult it was. Being a mother myself my heart hurt for you. I converted in 2016 and my adult daughter moved to another state and now we haven't talked for a year. I pray every day to Allah to show her the straight path and lead her into Islam. I hope the same for your mother. May Allah give us peace.

Brother I know this feeling all too well I cried watching this . I became a Muslim almost 5 years ago I lost my relationship with my mother she even practically disowned me.. but Allah never did that to me he guided me even gave me a Son two months ago and a beautiful wife! I pray Allah softens the heart of my mom because I love her but I don’t know how to talk to her without being told I’m trying to force her when I’m just simply answering her questions.. I want my mom in heaven with me but I came to realize it’s up to Allah who he guides thank you Allah for guiding me! I love you
julie andrews your theory is flawed your devil won’t let you see that clearly Allah wants you to love him more than anything because everything you have including your children was a gift from him because he created it all to begin with. My best friend older brother converted to Islam through ,I lose my best friend (he told me his parent disown his brother), but the guy I converted always try to get back to his family but they rejected him ,he stayed with me and brother ,we pray together read Quran and play a lot ,he always cry when he see his mother avoiding him ,last Ramadan his family accepted him back and I got my bestie ,everyone is happy ,they let him practice islam

My mom was so afraid of me becoming a Muslim even she said to me that my husband would beat me as soon as I marry him. 6 Year a later she has become Muslim herself and she loves my husband. Need to make dua for my father so he becomes a Muslim as well. Inshallah 💕

I’m a recent revert, and it’s comforting to me to see I’m not the only revert who struggles. It’s caused problems in my family, my brother tries to argue with me any chance he gets, he even cursed me. It is really hard, but even in a state of stress and arguments, shaytans attempt to rip my family apart, I still feel peace and contentment now that I have Allah with me.

Watching this video and reading the comments gives me strength. I came out to my Jehovahs Witness mother and we finished talking about 30 minutes ago. She was crying, telling me satan was trying to take me down with him. This is stressful but its the burden that I must bear. May Allah keep me on the straight path.
May God give you the strength to keep the faith and may God soften your mother's heart to accept you as she always did. Respect her, be kind to her, and put her on that special pedestal she deserves to be on even if she 'doesn't' get you now. If there's one thing that I've learnt from life that you have just reinforced, it's that positive change and progress can sometimes take a long time. Sometimes we will want things to work our in our favour suddenly, but then it happens to take us years to get to that specific place. Alhamduillah for the journeys that Allah brings us on.
Alhamdulillah one of my friends who is 15 years of age, was Christian and was really interested in my religion (Islam) he told me first "can you teach me Arabic" I thought nothing much of it and I showed him some of the Arabic language, then 2 weeks past we didn't talk to each other, and he calls me then closes it, I thought nothing much of it either, then he texted me saying "I'm getting beaten up" I told him why, and it turned out his Christian mom wasn't happy about his convert to Islam, even though I was happy, after 2 years, he left his mom, became a Muslim, and helped many people achieve their goals, mashallah. When i was in my teen, i was always scolded by my mother for not taking solat strictly and being a notty teen just like other normal teens do. Now i am thinking how blessed i am for having a mom who cared soo much about me religiously and at the same time feel so sad to hear stories the reverts are facing with regards to their mothers.
