Nick Dugley thanks mate. Wished there was something like this when l was looking so l thought best l make something, if one person gets something from it then it was worth it 👍
great review a lot of thought has gone into the options. Im in the process of looking for a van and this makes it so much easier, any chance of adding a list of the extras in the drop down. thanks john
john wilson Thankyou yes there sure was a lot of time thinking about it, I’m away working atm but if l can find a list I’ll try and post it. What’s the drop down you talk of?
Great walk-around - we just bought a Q+ and are using your video as training :-). You mentioned a 4 step foldable ladder that fits in pole carrier. Where did you buy that? Cheers Richard
Hi Richard, I’m glad it helped mate and l hope you are still happy with your Q+! Sorry for the late reply, im sure you got it sorted by now but it was just from ebay l believe
Hey mate great video, I pretty much want your van after watching this but haven’t viewed the AOR yet, only online research. I’m in WA so I’ll get over to the factory soon for a tour. I’ve looked at complete campsite and the track trailer range so far, did you view these before your purchase of the AOR, I’m impressed with these two models but lacking exactly what I want...What I’m impressed with is that your van can sleep 4 with the internal en-suite, did you end up making the video of your van with the bunks fitted, I would be keen to see it if possible ? Cheers
Dagwood Dog hi mate thanks for the feedback! Defiantly checkout the factory and have a chat to the guys at AOR. I didn’t go all that much on track trailer but Complete Campsite were at the top of my list for some time as they did offer a few things aor didn’t at the time but those were Redarc Redvison and airbags but l can say that these are both now available as options. For me it came down the build quality and layout so l gave up my airbags and redivision for mainly build quality/finish and layout, I didn’t want to have young kids showering outside in bad weather tracking dirt etc inside so having the internal toilet and shower was a winning factor and as you mention bunks. I have not yet made a video for that sorry as our youngest is 19 months and another due in April and they don’t require bunks as of yet but l have a bunk above dinette in the shed and planned to use the dinette as a bed also but l think we will have a bunk installed above the main bed so we can leave the dinette setup for having breaky etc if it’s cooler outside. Good thing about aor as l can add this second bunk option not worries. I think there is no perfect setup but this comes very close to that for us. If you follow @Evansoffroadadventues on Instagram you can follow us down in tassie in feb 👌 plenty of vids with the van in action. Let me know if l can help anymore. Cheers Pat
Evans Off-road Adventures, absolutely all about the build quality, will be shopping around, North coast campers, Noosa off road mountain trail and Murraybilt campers are the others I’m keen for a tour of. Can’t tow a big van so I started checking out the hybrids, I’m still trying to come to terms with the smaller van bigger price tag thing, it’s only money....right. What did the tare and ATM of yours come in at ? Cheers
Dagwood Dog well saying goes you get what you pay for. Depends what you want to do also. No point spending 100k on a van to go to caravan parks etc a jay o will do that for 50k. Live for now l say if you can afford it why not. Mine was 2t tare 2.5 atm but with my extra tanks l can easily go over that but I’m just careful to keep weights down. I’m sure there are other brands out there worth looking into but l spend years looking and another one waiting for my aor and I’m yet to see anything built better or with better after sales and I’m always looking lol l wouldn’t even consider a CC now that aor do the few things l wanted then and they have unbeatable resale values. I liked zone RV but not for me just to big or to small. Cheers
Excellent, thanks, Pat. We've just paid our deposit and decided on the Q+ over the Matrix as we also prefer outdoor cooking. Your video will help us decide on what we want in options. We've already decided on the composting WC - much more simple than managing the macerator and there's only 2 of us in the van (my job, as hubby says "you use it, you manage it") and long distances between dump points here in WA. Do you have advice on side walls for the awning? Is there any problem cooking when it's windy? How about flying insect protection outside - you mentioned you might upgrade to skirt ... and maybe side wall? Cheers, Kerry
Hi Kerry glad it was of some help. I really need to do a follow up video now it’s been some time. We love to cook outside and use an induction cook top on the other rare occasions inside. Ok yep we don’t really use our toilet as I’d rather use a drop toilet once a day then empty empty tanks. If we do a long stay somewhere like Frasier island we use it. Iv never used the large side wall only the ends on occasion where it is a little windy or if we’re unfortunate enough to have close neighbours. We only camp off grid so not often we use them but l tend to always carry them still 😂. I don’t think I’d personally bother with the skirt we never stay put long enough to use it and l didn’t like the buttons along the side of van as I’m a little ocd but if you do weeklong stays then I’d say it would be good for keeping the draft out but all this stuff is more things that are damp etc and Require cleaning and drying out when you get home so l use as little as l need to. Hope this helps
@@tapevans87 Thanks very much - really helpful & good common sense. Just the 2 end walls is what we were thinking, with window/door opening on kitchen end wall. Does the induction cooker work with the upgraded lithium & inverter, or have you only used it when on 240v? Have you used the sail track on the driver's side ... is it worth having? Cheers.
I’m very sorry for not replying Kerry l must have missed it. You would have your van by now but Iv only every used the two end walls still to this day and yep induction will work on the lithium and upgraded inverter be it we don’t use it much but it’s light and doesn’t take up much space. Hope you’re enjoying your AOR!
Great in depth video. Still enjoying it? This is pretty much the only Aussie built hybrid on the market, do you think the price has been justified in your experience over a Chinese import for close to half the price? We’d love one but it’s some big dollars.
Hi mate very sorry for the late response but yep we still have it and love it, suits hour lifestyle well. I think like anything you get what you pay for and yep they are expensive but they can go to the cape and come back unbroken l think that’s says a lot. Hope you got into something what ever it may be 👍
Daniel Dickerson hi mate thanks, it’s the Australian off-road forum it’s private for owners but if your insterested in buying an aor you can ask them for guest entry to get on. Contact Tina at AOR for more info 👍
you prolly dont give a shit but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any tips you can give me.
@Kaiser Zander Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
