That struck a chord. Several millennia ago when my wife and got married, we thought about that paddle steamer (or a similar one, it was multi-night anyway) for our honeymoon. We went to a travel agent (cos that's what you did back then) who was aghast at the idea, saying we'd be the youngest people on the boat by a generation at least. So we didn't. Probably should have, it looked awesome.
My one and only overseas trip was when my grandma brought me along with her Probus club so here I was, a teenager, with a bunch of retirees and I loved it! Generally speaking the older people get the more open and friendlier they seem to be
Great treat to have a video from you guys on a Sunday morning. Looks like a splendid adventure. Great photography, editing and of course some of Jordan’s famous drone footage. A lovely instalment!
Glad you enjoyed it! We are happy to be back in action after a little break ☺️ he is so good with it - unfortunately the DJI lives in a tree now 🪦💔 will need to invest in another
Beautiful video and looked like a fascinating, relaxing and beautiful trip! Definitely a fan of doing something out of my demographic too - why miss out on fun experiences because of other people’s expectations?
"You've already had one coffee Emily" "We've had one, yes. What about second coffee?" "Don't think he knows about second coffee, Emily." "What about elevenses? Luncheon coffee? Afternoon coffee? Dinner? Supper? They knows about them, don't they?"
Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that I'm really loving the videos from Australia and New Zealand ❤ I'm from Brazil so it's amazing to see the other side of the world in such quality videos Keep on the good work!
So happy to see this from you guys this morning. Loved the video. We enjoyed the history and charm of that area and the boat. We also love going on experiences that are cross generational. I would fact check the longest rivers though. I think that is not right. Cheering and clicking you guys on to your goal! 🙏🙌 J&C 🇺🇸
Excellent video. Echuca and the old boats are wonderful. But I would recommend that you cruise down the Murray through South Australia. Huge cliffs and beautiful wetlands. Go on the Murray Princess 7 night Upper Murray cruise. The Murray there is so different to what you have seen at Echuca. Safe travels!
Thanks for such an entertaining video! 🚢 I've camped along the Murray River and if I ever saw the Emmylou I would have never thought anything of it... Great tour and insight! Very impressive 👍🏼
Great video 👍🏻 I just love steam paddle boats but i would not say, that this is worlds only paddle steamer, we have at least 13 of them in « Belle Epoque » style in Switzerland on different lakes.
Just found your channel today and came across this video. I've never heard of this cruise and you made it sound like so much fun, that I've put my name on the Solo Standby List for the same cruise in September. Thanks!
Loved your final comments Emily. Have been on the EmmyLou and it is amazing. Australia has so much to offer, we should travel in our own back yard more.
What an amaizing coincidence that you have navigated all 3 largest rivers in order each year. Your videos are mindblowing, and inspiring that now I want to do that cruise too. Yes, Emily should be Australia's embassador ❤
Ok I think I want to do this now just for the food! We are definitely very lucky with our options for domestic tourism being so varied. The only downside is the cost
Right!? the food was incredible. Yeah the cost to travel in Australia can get insane, especially when you can get super affordable flights to places where tourism is a fraction of the price!
I agree with your comment, Emily - re "old boats"... They do have a more classic feel"... or do we call it ambience... Flash is good, but who needs all the mod cons? Nice video team.
