Cate Campbell is a class act! She had to be so disappointed, but almost immediately, she smiled and warmly congratulated the other swimmers. WELL DONE, CATE! 👏

The 50m sprint was spectacular, the girls putting on a show, just a thought for future Olympics, while it might be too late for the Paris 2024 Olympics - they have the 4 x 100m, they have the 4 x 200m, they have the 4 x 100m medley relay, but they don't have a 4 x 50m freestyle sprint, which would be a smash hit at the pool, spectacular, and unpredictable, just what sports enthusiasts love to watch, hey if they can put on synchronized swimming, they can put on the 4 x 50m sprint.

Hoping Cody Simpson can now fade into obscurity and the 4 swimmers above him can receive the media attention he has had to create a career for themselves. Australian media is disgusting the way it created a rift between Cody and Kyle and now hopefully this can be put to rest and the real swimmers can be allowed a brand to be put forth to the public.

Why do people like u hate a guy who bravely risked a singing career break to try for this dream? No horse in the race for me but I don't get why u hate this guy? Amazing talent singing and swimming. Swimmers would kill to finish 5th and they sure as shizz cant sing
@connorj8050
@connorj8050 3 месяца назад
@@Bbfanatic he didn’t risk anything, he has millions of dollars, doesn’t need to work another day in his life. People dislike him because he’s taking away from much better swimmers, taking sponsorship deals away from people where that’s their only income. That’s my real gripe with it all. Ask general public person who came third in that race and they wouldn’t know because they didn’t get mentioned once, where as Cody got about 30 mins of coverage, it’s insane.

@@connorj8050ok fIr dialogue. I live in hollywood. I work for syco records. U may know our biggest success one direction. Cody is not harry styles he left us behind to pursue swim. In good looking universe a year is a decade. He risked that to swim. I admire it. I dont wndorse him getting favorable treatment in any way shape or form
@LeByron
@LeByron 3 месяца назад
@@Bbfanatic It's not hate it's reality. All night they say his name, all race they say his name, after the race he gets more attention than the actual winner. Sure if he didn't go overseas for music he'd probably be up there but that's not the case. He gave it a crack but 4 other swimmers finished above him and 2nd, 3rd and 4th didn't even get a mention on air.

Question: in the 100 m butterfly one person made the qualifying time and is going to Paris. But aren’t you allowed to send two swimmers. Why don’t you send the one who came second too. Thanks.

@@Drinking-Water Why are they tougher? Doesn't that just mean we will have less swimmers?
@Drinking-Water
@Drinking-Water 3 месяца назад
@@zac2462 Yup. Probably because 1. It's expensive to bring many swimmers that might not be the most competitive/in medaling positions (thus the fast quali times) 2. Aussies are weird.

He doesn’t deserve it and has been used by the media to bring light to the Australian swim team that is not needed. He isn’t good enough. He never has been. I feel sorry for him and anyone who has been dragged through this media onslaught that has surrounded him. HE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

As amazing as Cate is and has been she really orchestrated that farewell to her that most swimmers don't get. Emma Mckeon will go to Paris this year and will retire and that will be it. But Swimming Australia need to do better when celebrating retiring swimmers who have been champions especially when they have a national viewing audience. Mack Horton got zip this year. Mitch Larkin swimming prob his last trials got zip. Next trials or Aus Champs when they have a national audience each night celebrate a swimmer who has recently retired who is an Olympic or World champion and give them the kudos they deserve in front of an appreciative home crowd. But well done Cate on a stellar career!
