Thanks for joining me on another adventure. This time I am joined with my Brother In-Law (Ryan) and Nephew (Oliver). We're heading off for an overnight kayak camp and doing a fair bit of fishing while we're on our way to the site.
Ryan and Oliver sure know how to catch fish better than me, so please give me some tips hahaha. It was a good trip and especially in such an epic spot on the South Coast of NSW Australia.
Thanks for watching and if you'd like, I'd appreciate any shares, likes and subscriptions.
As always, I appreciate all feedback on my videos, so if you have a suggestion or something I could work on for my next one, please do comment.

.... at least you caught one fish, maybe they (bass) were over fed on cicadas.. Love the Drone footage really adds to the awesomeness of the river, it is a special place. Was great to catch up for a quick chat on the water. We are heading back soon, can not stay away lol

There were a few around hey. Was super stoked to get the one. Maybe next time I'll do a bit better, who knows. Was nice to finally meet you and have a yarn on the water.

Love Tallowa Dam, last time I was there just before Covid Lockdowns I paddled up to the Sunken Forest near Beehive Campsite, so beautiful! The Lyre birds were out in full force, a couple of fishers on peddle yak's but not much was biting apparently.

I love it up that part of the lake too. Hopefully the restrictions will ease soon so I can get back on the water, hopefully for a good time getting the line wet again.

Epic drone shots mate!!!! Yep never call it too early, I always catch a fish on the "maybe one more flick" right after I've decided to give up. I'm heading there in a few weeks. This definitely psyched me up!!!

Thanks mate! Yeah although I would have been fine with the stirring from Ryan and Oliver about not catching anything, I'm glad I was able to hahaha If you want, I'll shoot you some map screenshots of where some good spots are.

Thanks fella. There are a few of us around. Just don't get as much air time as Canadians and Americans. I actually sold my sit on top after this trip. Currently looking at a One Tree Canoe Sprite 11

I have gone to a canoe from a sit on top myself although I still use the sit on top for the skinny water trips.
@OutdoorsOvernight

Ah sweet. I still have access to another sit on top but wanted to do some longer trips and loved using my old canoe, so thought I'd go down that path. Looking forward to it.

@@OutdoorsOvernight Canoe or kayak (sit in or sit on top)? So many choices! Looking forward to seeing more paddling content from Australia 😉

Most likely a canoe. Wanting something much lighter than the 36kg beast in this vid.

hey mate nice video . i thought you were paddling the upper Nepean from around Penrith (very similar topography ) , but then read in the comments you were somewhere else down south . you should say or put in your descriptions where you're paddling . drop in and get out spots , it would be helpful to your fellow paddling enthusiasts . A bit of info about your location and rout would be great .unless you want to keep it a secret of course
@OutdoorsOvernight
@OutdoorsOvernight 2 года назад
Hey mate, thanks for the comment. I'd like to explore the Upper Nepean one day. Some of the images and footage looks awesome. While I didn't mention this spot, it isn't a hidden secret. I've decided to limit the amount of location information off my videos as I've seen what can happen when it does. My "Chasing Hidden Waterfalls" is one example. Even though I found evidence of others when I did the hike, the property owner closed public access to it. Although any good paddling guide has all the info. The 3rd Edition of The Paddler's Guide to NSW has so many good paddles described, including this one. Thanks again for stopping by, I hope I've explained myself well enough to make sense and not rambled too much lol

@@OutdoorsOvernight yeah all good . I saw your first video after this one explaining where you were paddling . I have no objection to keeping secret or places only known to locals off the internet . Ive lived guided and explored here in the blue mtns immensely . I knew of a lot of pristine pretty untouched unspoilt secluded spots . for camping swimming or just exploring .unfortunately people have put these places on social media and they are getting trampled and spoiled by people who dont seam to care about their impact . its such a shame those local secret places are all being exposed . sometimes itsd hard to find a secluded camp site or bush paradise anymore without bubblies coming along and spoiling the tranquillity or just evidence of them having been there with rubbish , environmental damage to plants and earth , rocks trees etc and sometimes even graffiti carved into rocks or trees . ffs who gives a shit if DH was there
@OutdoorsOvernight
@OutdoorsOvernight 2 года назад
@@sprintershepherd4359 100% agree with you mate. The last thing you want to see when heading out is evidence of others. Leaving rubbish in some pretty hard to reach places confuses me. If you've carted it that far full, it's only going to be lighter on the way back...
@sprintershepherd4359
@sprintershepherd4359 2 года назад
@@OutdoorsOvernight yep exactly . even more harder to explain when its a car camping spot . We always make a point of leaving a place better than we found it , by cleaning it up or getting rid of some weeds or fire scars , out of respect for the natural earth we share this planet with . She can do with all the help she can get in this day and age

Ah glad you enjoyed it mate. Was a tricky one to put together as it was the first time recording with others. Im using the DJI Mavic Mini. Nice light litte drone. Not much surface action even with the amount of cicadas around. I eas using the cicada lure 90% of the time. Ryan and Oli had luck on the paddle down with spinners.
