A large detachment of the Australian Imperial Force are sent in after a group of missing soldiers who were sent to recover a scientist from the ever mysterious UNIT 731. They quickly find what caused the disappearances and have to fight their way out of the jungle with their VIP.

It's not a reference to an SCP number, the actual SCP #731 is totally unrelated. You're right that it is an SCP op though

This is funny because my grandfather got sent to New Guinea during the war. Mind you he fought a typewriter, then he got dengue fever and god laid up for a while. John Wayne came through and chatted with him, and I figure that he must've been around then when they were filming Back to Bataan. While he didn't really swear, he would probably describe New Guinea as a bug-ridden shithole. It permanently ruined scrambled eggs for him because he could never get over the idea of bugs being in his food.

This is one of their ops that you see and hear a TON of gunfire but you never see what they're actually shooting at. These videos are always just the shenanigans that happen during the ops. I can't recall actually seeing the mission objective be completed either it's just pops up at the end of the video that it's been accomplished and I'm left wondering "how? What did they even do?" But I still watch the next video anyways cuz they genuinely entertain anyways lol
