Neat, I go to Abtenau at least once or twice a year to visit friends or see metal concerts (or attend HOTH). Didn't know there was a Rodelbahn there.

My partner and I are planning a trip to Austria. I have been to Switzerland, and I loved it (and I watched your Swiss vlog too) - I am wondering what do you think are the similarities and differences to Austria? when do you think is the best time to visit Austria? thanks for a sweet video and many good vibes and laughs! Thank you for the sweet comment! We thought the two countries were pretty similar, both have beautiful landscapes, clean, and kind people 🫶🏼 we went in late May and it was already warm but not busy with too many summer tourists so I think that’s the perfect time to go 😊

Thank you so much for watching. We stayed at Landhaus Koller for two nights :) It is in Gosau, and 20 min driving distance to Hallstatt and Abtenau.

Hi ☺️, you probably know Austria very well, do you know if there are any pine trees in Austria?

Of course, there are pine trees in Austria. Not the mediterranean pines, therefore the winter-temperatures are dropping too deep. But other, more boreal pines, they grow. There is even a domestic pine variety, the "pinus nigra austiaca" which were important in my region for natural resin and turpentine. But few people in resin extraction busines remained.... Why are you asking this very particular question?

How was the weather in Austria at that time of year? We are going this summer and we don’t know what to pack.

It was very nice! I wore dresses, jeans, tank tops, and a light sweater. Should be nice during the summer but always good to have a sweater or light jacket for evenings or cloudy days. Enjoy your trip! 😊

That was our hotel breakfast at Landhaus Koller :) I believe it is only open to guests, but you could also call and ask if you can go for just breakfast. It was a lovely small and intimate hotel and the breakfast spread was great!

Once we got into Hallstatt we saw signs for a parking lot (but not the small one right by the water). We went earlier in the morning and had no issues! I definitely recommend trying to go as early as possible or you might be waiting for a spot for a little while :)

The berries youre found.. probably wild strawberries. There are snakes in austria. but none with poison. You can walk everywhere in austria. no snakes, bears, wolves... whatever.
