In this video we take a short hike on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, taking in the villages of Austwick and Clapham. We started the walk from Orcaber Farm campsite, and covered around 7 miles. If you start and finish in Austwick, the circuit will be around 5 miles. Most of the paths are good, but there are a number of stiles to cross, and several fields which may contain livestock.

Hello Des and Maria. What a chilly damp looking day. The countryside was just beautiful with the farm animals dotting the fields. Love it when you walk through towns and villages too so we can see them. 5 miles was a nice little trek. Glad you beat the rain.

Bore Da Des a Maria ! That was great to see but it did look a bit chilly:) The long shot of the church looked nice and Austwick looked lovely . Always like to see cows and sheep in the fields and you did nice shoutouts, love that cup you got sent :) The sound of rushing water was good to hear especially after all of the problems certain areas have had this year with streams and lakes drying up. The Grotto looked really interesting, we always love looking in places like this and you had a nice route back down. The church in Clapham looked beautiful and so did the little waterfalls and stream there and it was good that you managed to get a seat in the pub with the welcoming fire ! Enjoyed that walk :) ~ Anna 👍

Lovely walk Des in a gorgeous area. Bit cooler than you’re last hike mate 😃 Love the waterfalls and stone walls - all evocative Yorkshire Dales. Not done Ingleborough either but Pen Y Ghent is a fine hill. Lovely villages and a cool “folly” Definitely entering muddy season here too. And a lovely Thwaites IPA to finish 😍 Have a good rest of the week you two
