This is part 2 of the series of videos on this automotive diagnostic scan tool
I have only scratched at the surface on the functions of this tool

I have autel maxidiag 808 pro it has everything this scanner has except by-directional controls and it only cost around $200 bucks.

Hi, I have just purchased the ds708, but i'm having a problem getting online with it, it will connect using the LAN, but not using WIFI, it doesnt seem to be able to find a IP address, even though it is set to auto detect in the WIFI setting. Have you had any problems with yours? phil

I tried to start my Autel maxidas to Setup my ID, but I couldn't even see the main menu after I must have inserted my sd card then plug to dc power supply then press the power button, it will on and display : corrupt memory card or sd card not inserted or wrong SD card... Please what could the problem be?

What do you do when your SD card got corrupted that's what I need to know I'm hoping somebody or answer my question how can I get the files downloaded back to a new SD card

One thing I read that is disturbing about this so please correct me if I read this wrong but the updates for this unit are $500+ dollars a year after the first year? They say you don't get penalized for not updating or skip a year, but when you go to update the unit it will ask you for some type of key that you have to pay for.. IE: Won't let you use the unit until it's paid. For home use is this overkill? I have 4 vehicles, from japanese, american and german. I don't need yearly updates to get to 2015+ models, but can this unit still be used say 3-4 years down the road without updating the unit or am I held hostage in a way to constantly have to update this yearly at the update price point? Thanks much, -Nigel

NewShockerGuy You will have your free years updates, you don't need to update every year, the tool wont cease to function.the updates just give you the latest and newest software for each Manufacture.I am a was a home mechanic myself, when I got this scan tool. Now I work for a small garage 3 days a weekthe DS708 got me out of some very tricky repairs.One was a Nissan Almera, with a dirty throttle body, I cleaned the throttle body and was left with the idle going up and down, 800 rpm to about 2500 rpmThere is a procedure that can be done without the scan tool, but it would not work with this carI used the ds708 to do an idle relearn, job done.If you were only seeing a few jobs a year, it might not justify the purchase costNow, I would not be without it

This tool will still work if you don't do the updatesTo get the first years updates, all I had to do was register the tool on the Autel website, using the information on the label of the tool, I did not have to pay for the first years update

I did not see any EPB, I know the MD802 does support EPB This tool does test ABS

Electronic Workshop I found out that it supports EPB and SBC, you didn't see cos the car you are scanning does not have that system.

here in Europe, Autel does not work very well on old models, and they are not interested in doing any updates to cover earlier models, Snap on is the same, but they have a help line, Autel don't, as far as I am aware

+lado boashvili First, make sure it covers the Manufactures in your part of the world, the software in my Ds708 is for Europe, you will have to ask the seller about this,When you receive your DS708, the first thing that has to be done is to register it on the Autel website, you will have to create an account with Autel, this is free.you the will get free updates for a year, after the first year you will have to pay for updates, the last time I checked the cost, it was around €500 for the year updates
