The Rockman absolutely slams your guitar signal with brutal amounts of compression. But it is done so tastefully with all of the other effects that surround it. Def Leppard fans: The Rockman was the secret weapon behind the smash hit album Hysteria.
Not gonna lie man out of all the guitar tutorials I look up I always scroll through to try and find you first. the other guys aren’t as beginner friendly. definitely my favorite channel to find tutorials and tips!!
I've got an 80's budget amp that does all this and more plus it sounds way better being all tube with spring reverb called the Peavey Bravo 12 ! It's an 18 watt all tube EL-84 power wash 3-4 of the 12ax7 pre amp tubes and it's got the killer Princeton reverb clean channel and then switch to gain it's totally vintage Marshall and vox+klon tones all the way up to high gain modded Marshall/Mesa boogie high gain and I only paid $120 for this monster tube amp !
Yo mate! Jusst fin-ished thu video... The unit has great sounds.. You did a knock off job demo-ing it.. Thaink you.

Good morning Andy A pleasant moment that I have just spent on your channel. Bravo and congratulations for this beautiful sharing. Good day musically Danielle
Dunlop really did a disservice to the Rockman. You had to process the hell out of it, to get it a little closer to the original. That said, under $100 you can't beat it. Check out Colombo pedals. Rockman clones, but $$$.
To be fair the original SR&D ace line wasn’t much better, but they put more time into biasing the FETs for the compressor per unit so it wouldn’t be so overbearing.
Not the same. The original had chorus and reverb you could use one or the other. Def Leppard used the chorus setting mostly. The compression on the new ones isn't as good either.
Hay! 'Oim typing tuh you in Bri-tish...o-kay? Luv the accent mate. I am left 'anded and am about to buy a lefty Les Paul knock off for playin' ' round wivv. I'm finkin' ' bout one uv these units.. Luv the sounds they produce.
How do you go about asking you a question from a course on your site after joining, sent a question through help desk no response do not see any other way of contacting you on your membership site Thanks thought I would give this a try
This amp is it big enough to use to play in a garage band if not do you have any recommendations? Can you show how to play save all your love by great white. Thanks for all the help
The Rockman sound, while undeniably iconic, is also, in my considered opinion, also highly overrated. Its concepts can be applied to make a vastly superior tone with different EQ and better chorus, phaser, and echo equipment. Today the classic Rockman sound is undeniably cheesy. Actually it always has been, but in the early 80s it was also fresh and who doesn't like fresh cheese?
There are some pretty bizarre tone shaping circuits in the Rockman X100 (not this ACE thing) with pre eq Distortion and post eq Distortion processing. It is difficult to replicate. The compressor section in the X100 is very complex with two release times and the need for hand selected transistors based on variability of the circuit .
@@MarcusFenix50 I was there in the 80s, and learning guitar. I've owned a Rockman, and seriously considered buying the whole Rockmodules system. By altering the EQ and adding in some bass and treble, I got a tone that was so much bigger, fatter, more monstrous than the straight tone. Everybody who heard my take on the Rockman tone liked mine better. However I'm more of a rhythm player, so this is understandable...to most people.
I guess Tom Scholtz took that cheezy sound and created master pieces with THAT EXACT SOUND...I played in a cover band and I used this with EVERY Boston tune we did....and I learned the songs by ear and people that would hear me practicing the songs using this cheezy sounding Rockman said they couldn't tell the difference between me and Boston....and they sold MANY.......what have you made that made you an instant legend???????
