There is When Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the verse (interpretation of the meaning): “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies.” [al-Ahzab 33:59], he covered his face, leaving only one eye showing. This indicates that what was meant by the verse was covering the face. This was the interpretation of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) of this verse, as narrated from him by ‘Ubaydah al-Salmani when he asked him about it.

I just need a clarification on this: 1. If the concept of hijab is to conceal your beauty as a woman, which it is. 2. Your face is one of if not the most beautiful part of your body. 3. You need to cover your face. A. You are going to cover your elbows and knees, but not your face?! B. Is it because the knee is better looking than the face, really?
@insaanabdulla4522
@insaanabdulla4522 Год назад
For some reason the whole "face being the centre of beauty" fallacy has become too widespread in the past few decades. You could conduct a sociological study yourself if you don't trust the ones already existing and you would find that different men are attracted to different aspects of the female body. Millions upon millions of men would testify that, if they were shown a woman's cleavage and her face, the first thing their eyes would gravitate towards would be the cleavage. No questions asked. Millions more would say, that they don't care how beautiful the woman's face is. All they care about is how her legs are shaped or how curvy her behind is and so on and so forth. You see, beauty truly is subjective and lies in the eye of the beholder. Shariah has absolutely no say in what one can and cannot find beautiful.
@insaanabdulla4522
@insaanabdulla4522 Год назад
Many would argue that that most beautiful part of the face are the eyes. Infact many men have been captivated solely by a woman's eyes. So a similar argument can be made. Are you going to cover your face but not your eyes?! Is it because the nostril is better looking than the eyes? Really?! So ultimately we'll have people go a step further and do what the Afghans do and make the women wear the entire burqa which cover even their eyes. Tell me, if all women are covered from head to toe in totality, then the ayat which commands men to lower their gaze becomes redundant. What even remains of the woman to be seen? Why would there be a prohibition at looking at a woman who's nothing can be seen. Not even her shape or eyes. So the obligation of men to lower the gaze would not apply and their burden would reduce. But is that what is asked of us humans? To make one gender share the entire burden? Clearly, men must share atleast some of the burden right? Men should turn away, so that women are not burdened with having to go through a greater difficulty of covering her face and hands.

The ayat would still apply you say? Really brother? Even if the woman is covered head to toe, including eyes and nails and feet? SubhanAllah! You yourself said in the other comment that the reason for the woman to cover up was to hide the beauty so that men would not be able to see it. Which implies that once the object of desire has already been covered thoroughly and extensively, there is no longer any thing left for the men to get attracted to. what purpose would there be after so much precaution for the man to still be command to lower his gaze? He wouldn't even be able to recognise, if under that burqa, there exists a man or an old woman or a young girl. Which is why that ayah, would become redundant. There would be no need for any man to lower his gaze as the object of his desire has been totally covered up. Even if he were to stare at the burqa for hours, he wouldn't be able to arouse himself as there is nothing left for him there. It like staring at a fluffy curtain. If you are somehow suggesting that a woman wearing a full Afghan burqa STILL has some potential to attract the man, then wow! What can I say?

@@insaanabdulla4522 No brother we don't have to talk on this as we may become subjective. Type on browser "most attractive female body part" and then you can see the results for your own. A research (online) held in USA where most women don't cover their figure at all, means that it is normal for their men to see the women's figure and faces as well. See on Dr felix. At first position 46% men stated that a woman's face is her most attractive part and bosoms appear at 5th position which Allah Tala expressly states to cover with 8% voting only. (Again we are talking about a country where most women are not covering their figure, this is good for the research as the subjects are those who are neutral to woman's body) What does this mean then? Did Allah Tala not know the biology of men that he asked the women to cover bosoms (8%), jewellery, even sound of it, makeup etc and allowed them to display face (46%)? (Ma'az Allah) Don't you think it would be similar to the fact that you can't say "uff" to your parents but yeah you can abuse or beat them !

It is forbidden to hide your face during the holiest act: prayer and during the holiest ritual in the holiest place: hajj. Why would it be fard when doing your groceries? If it were applief wholly over all women, think of the security issues, no man would recognize his wife, no child would recognize his mother. A woman’s face is her identity. Why did the prophet no make his daughter wear it? Do not wear makeup, that is better, but your face is your right to exist. Salaam, even if covering the face isn't mandatory and is mustahabb (recommended), then one should try to aim for what is better which is to wear it, like when it comes to other acts of worship we should aim for what is best not what is minimum. The home in the next life is eternal and it has many levels, why be content to aim for the lower/lowest in an eternal never-ending home? With respect there is evidence for covering the face being an obligation and perhaps also evidence to the contrary, so what you stated about it being a personal choice isn't unanimous/agreed upon. @@colettenora9769You cannot come on RU-vid and declare that Islam doesn't make it obligatory for a woman to cover her face, as if this is the ruling adopted by everyone when there is evidence that it is an obligation. And to quote the ayah from the end of Surah Al Baqarah لا يكلف الله نفسها الا وسعها and say Allaah knows the difficulties gives the impression that you are saying that it is a hardship to wear Niqaab. If indeed it is an obligation then Allaah did not make it obligatory to harm women. Regarding Hajj it isn't forbidden for women to cover their faces during Hajj, you are mistaken respectfully. Rather it is forbidden for them to wear a niqaab which is made for the purpose of covering or to fit the face, as it isn't allowed for men to wear something which is made to fit the body like trousers or a shirt. It is the most tempting part of her body, because what people look at most is the face, so the face is the greatest ‘awrah of a woman. This is in addition to the shar’i evidence which states that it is obligatory to cover the face. For example, Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, headcover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyoubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)…” [al-Nur 24:31]

On Niqab, I have seen scholars arguing that this scholar said that and that scholar said that but they never produce any clear evidence for covering the face from Holy Quran or any clear and authentic hadeeth of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him). One issue that the niqab has is the fact that some men literally wore it fully covering the face hands and eyes so you couldn't tell if they are a man or a woman. When i was a child in saudi arabia i was with my mother in an only women's place then a dude got caught because he slipped up and spoke. So it can get problomatic very quickly in highly populated places. I would not want some creepy man going into a only women's place disguised as a woman like that. May god make it easy on all of us.

Even the Prophet Muhammad never force any woman to cover their faces then who are you guys??? Holier than the Prophet? lf you say that niqab is fard, it automatically means that those who do not wear it are sinful because they dont do the fard. l have seen so many pious women without niqab. The Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade woman in ihram for Hajj or ‘umrah to wear the niqab and gloves. (Narrated by al-Bukhari) There is no report to suggest that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade the woman in ihram to cover her face , or that he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) instructed them to uncover their faces. Hence women in ihram at the time of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to cover their faces with something other than the niqab when non-mahram men passed by them. The prohibition on women wearing the niqab and gloves means that they should not wear a separate garment that is made to fit the face and hands. It does not mean that they should not cover them at all. This is similar to the ruling of the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbidding the man in ihram to wear a chemise or pants. This does not mean that the man should remain naked; rather he should cover his body with the izar (waist-wrapper or lower garments) and rida (upper garment).

Wearing a baggy Abaya and a hijab which fulfill the conditions of the shara'i hijab will not stand out whatsoever. Because many non Muslims wear full length baggy clothes. Now that evolution has been proved beyond doubt, Islam is forced to change its once rigid position on this subject. Islam now has its own (incorrect) version of evolution which fits in with their beliefs. Evolution proves that the story (in Quran and Bible) of Adam (the creation of man) is totally false. If those books were written or directed by a 'god', than that 'god' would have understood evolution and not made those mistakes. This proves beyond doubt that the 'Holy' books were written by men. It is now up to each individual to decide that if the holy books aren't holy, does a 'god' really exist? You think Islam is correct? Unfortunately you are wrong. Islam refuses to accept the truth. Evolution was a theory in 1892 but has since been proved to be the truth by seven different scientific methods. The scientific community accepts evolution as the dominant scientific theory of biological diversity. Muslims reject the theory of evolution because it is in conflict with their false belief of creationism. Evolution proves that Islam is a false religion based on a lie, and they have fought against the truth being believed by Muslims. Your greed for an afterlife has led you to accept everything they have told you as the absolute truth. IT ISN'T.

Watch Dr Shabbir Aly on this topic.. The story of Adam as described by the Qur'an, can coexist with the theory of evolution. Note: Qur'an is not a book of science that it would detail what happened before Adam, although it does mention a whole nation before Adam, which also could explain the mystery of pyramids by some other intelligent beings. Again, the Qur'an only details what we humans need to do in this world, to attain paradise. Depending on your school of Fiqh, Islamic jurisprudence! it varies! Many of the Early Scholars don't consider the face to consetuate Awrah. the Quran doesn't mention the face as part of the 'awrah' at all. The concept of 'awrah' has been elaborated upon and interpreted by scholars over time, the face is not awrah According to Imam Abu Hanifa, the founder of the Hanafi school of jurisprudence, wearing the hijab, which covers the hair and body, is considered obligatory for women. However, he did not deem the niqab, which covers the face, as obligatory. Imam Abu Hanifa's stance was based on his interpretation of Islamic texts and principles, which emphasized modesty while allowing some flexibility in women's dress code. Imam Abu Hanifa's opinions were derived from his interpretation of Islamic teachings, including the Quran and the Hadith. While there isn't a specific verse in the Quran where Imam Abu Hanifa explicitly mentions his stance on the obligation of hijab and the niqab, his jurisprudential rulings were based on his understanding of various Quranic verses and hadiths related to modesty and dress code. One verse often cited in discussions of modesty is Surah An-Nur (24:31), where Allah instructs believing women to lower their gaze and guard their modesty, and not to display their adornments except what is apparent (such as the face and hands). Interpretations of this verse may vary among scholars and schools of thought. Imam Abu Hanifa's legal rulings and interpretations were documented in his works and were passed down through generations of scholars within the Hanafi school. His opinions on the obligation of hijab and niqab are based on his scholarly understanding of Islamic sources and principles. Imam Malik ibn Anas, the founder of the Maliki school of jurisprudence, is renowned for his contributions to Islamic law. While he emphasized the importance of modesty and decency in dress, his stance was not that of it being an obligation of niqab (face veil) Scholars argue that Imam Malik's position was that hijab (covering the hair and body) is obligatory for women, but he did not require the covering of the face with a niqab. They base this interpretation on his writings and the practices prevalent in his time and region. Ibn Hazm: An Andalusian Muslim scholar from the 10th century known for his contributions to various fields of Islamic knowledge. He held the view that covering the face (niqab) is not obligatory, but rather, covering the hair and body (hijab) is sufficient for women's modesty. Ibn Taymiyyah: A prominent medieval Islamic theologian and jurist known for his strict adherence to the Quran and Sunnah. While he emphasized the importance of modesty in dress, he did not mandate the wearing of niqab. He considered hijab (covering the hair and body) as fulfilling the requirements of Islamic dress. Ibn Qudamah: A Hanbali jurist from the 12th century who wrote extensively on Islamic jurisprudence. He held the opinion that while hijab is obligatory for women, covering the face (niqab) is not mandatory.

2 of the other Fiqhs/ islamic jurisprudence/Schools of thought made Niqab Obligatory for muslim women both Imam Hanbali and Imam Shafi'i are known for their views on the obligation of niqab for women in certain situations. In the Hanbali school, niqab is generally considered obligatory for women in front of non-mahram men. Similarly, in the Shafi'i school, niqab is considered obligatory in specific circumstances, particularly when there is a risk of fitnah or temptation. These views are based on their interpretations of Islamic teachings and jurisprudence.
