INGREDIENTS:
350g minced beef
half of a large tomato, diced
1 small onion, chopped
1 green chilli, sliced
a handful of coriander leaves
3/4 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
oil for frying
DIRECTIONS:
In a blender place onion, green chili, coriander and tomato; blend well.
Once blended. Strain the mixture and using a spoon squeeze all the juice from the tomato and onion.
Place the squeeze tomato and onion mixture back in the food processor along with HALF of the ground beef and all the seasoning(salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder). Blend until well combined.
Transfer mixture to a large bowl and add remaining unseasoned ground beef. Use your hands or a wooden paddle to mix the ingredients thoroughly till they are well blended. Try to knead the beef mix as if you're kneading a dough.
Soak bamboo skewers in water to prep for the kebabs.
Divide the beef mixture into equal portions. Grease you hands with some oil and using your fingers, slowly spread each portion on the skewers to make kebabs about 8-10cm long.
Cook the kababs on a tawa or hot grill pan adding a little bit oil for 3-4 minutes, then turn over and cook another 2-3 minutes.
Rest the kebabs for a few of minutes then serve with mint chutney, salad leaves. Or serve in naan breads to make wraps.
