Authenticity - a RANT and a RAVE. 

Okay, time to vent!
Imagine two contrasting performances: a pervasive, arbitrary SINGING style that irritates me beyond reason; and an ACTING choice that is lifeblood for my soul.
If the vocal style in this song were an anomaly I might credit my irritation to having a bad day. But I hear younger singers increasingly aping this bizarre affectation, so in this video I contrast the priorities of a cynical marketing department and a seasoned actor: affectation vs authenticity; style vs substance.
Communicating authentically is one of the greatest skills a writer or performer can develop, so I am in awe of Amanda Plummer's acting prowess in PICARD season 3
Am I overly critical of the travel advertisement that I saw, featuring a stupid vocal affectation that I wish would disappear forever? No . . . 'cos it's a stupid vocal affectation that I wish would disappear forever!
