What has always amazed me about King's writing is that it draws me in as if I were actually an observer just standing off to the side out of sight. It's as if I'm right there. His short stories and novellas are every bit as immersive - I can't get enough of his writing.

i agree with him 100% because i love to write poetry i've never submitted but i will someday & on how i write which is what i think how he writes whatever comes to mind for me i could be listening to a song or i hear a title of a song an an idea comes to me. i'd say King is pretty Similar but there are plenty of my poems and i've written at least over 200 or close to it by now a little of myself i think some of them are personal but not all of them.

Ever since Stephen King got Trump derangement syndrome his books have really gone downhill. He can’t help but inject every story with politics now or outright mention Trump. I’ve read Stephen King, since I was very very young. I’ve always loved his work. I always found his fictive experience to be immersive right up until Steve got Trump Derangement Syndrome. In his last five or six books King has bashed Trump, conservatives and brought the real life political world into his novels. It totally stops fictive experience for the reader, takes you out of the novel back into the real world and I for one resent it. You’re a novelist, not a pundit. I buy your work to escape. PLEASE stop already with the political commentary. In addition, your current TDS won’t translate at all in twenty years. Future readers will have no idea what your rants are all about but they will know they don’t belong in whatever amazing yarn you’re spinning.

Stephen King is not the only horror writer you know. There is a whole new generation of authors out there and yet y’all only give a platform to the same damn rotating wheel of authors. Why does no one want to embrace anything new? This goes for Hollywood too. We don't need another Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, or Chronicles of Narnia. Respect the old, but please at least acknowledge the new.

We were camping over Halloween weekend a few years ago in our comfy small RV on a wonderfully pitch black, cool, rainy October night in Western Ohio. We brought Pet Sematary on dvd to watch that Friday night after setting up and having a late dinner. A little over halfway through the film and snug in bed, the whole RV started sliding off the front jack blocks like we were being pushed by something! Freaked us right out like nothing else!!! (After the initial shock, I figured it was a prank by teenage kids - and/or Bigfoot - but, alas, the front stackable jack blocks are plastic, it was rainy and slick, we were parked on a very slight incline, and we had decided to not deploy the four manual stabilizer feet until the next morning in dryer weather. That was the mistake. Walking inside the RV had caused the front jack to begin to slip off the blocks in the wet. Lesson learned.)

The scariest thing I ever read (actually listened to) was King’s short story “The Man in the Black Suit.” I think the hairs on my neck got pretty close to standing on end. Great writer ✍️ this guy is! I had to stop reading his books tho, because I couldn’t put them down and I always felt a Demond was right behind me reading story; I kept looking behind my back, it messed with my nerves too much, I guess ‼️I always wondered how he knew so much about his characters? King is the type of writer that he’ll be telling you a story and all of a sudden, he stops to describe how one of the characters in the story became so evil and before you know it, you know more about him/her then you wanted to know; still you can’t put the book 📚 down and you question yourself, if there’s something wrong with you for reading this stuff. The Stand is a great book by the way and I also liked Four Seasons, it’s four different stories. Stephen King's writing is too dark for me. There is enough darkness in the world without writers creating more. Having said that, I have read every Neil Gaiman book going. Im on page 89 now and OOF its uhm... Well cant say anything without giving spoilers but... Well lets just keep it to that. Lets just say so saf it exceeds my expectations and Holly is my favorite GOOD character so I was excited yet nervous cause you just never know. Cujo and The Dark Half for example I couldnt do... Halfway through I had to call it quits. Same goes for Fairytale actually BUT that one I started when I got hit with a DEEP depression so maybe thats why I struggled, will definitely give it a re-try but FIRST Holly

My first book was Salem's Lot. I couldn't read it at night and was almost to the point of wearing garlic😅. Interesting he doesn't make a plot!!!

It's true about him promoting other authors, he tweeted about 'The Deluge" by Steven Markley (brilliant) and now I'm reading my second Markley book (Ohio)

The mad scientist used to be a staple of popular thrillers. Dr. Frankenstein was a mad scientist, so was Dr. Jekyll who created Mr. Hyde. The mad scientist can be comical, as in the Back To the Future movies. King's novel Holly presents mad scientists of the 21st century, a married couple with impressive academic merits and putrified intellect. There is something grotesquely comical about the story. Reading it, I wondered if it was a satire. Dr. Mengele has moved to an American suburb and his wife has strong views. It is a reality that science can become evil and perverse and education can foster madness. How the transition from good to bad may happen can only be imagined, because no one will tell you when it starts happening.

My favorite author of all time. Happens to be my wife’s as well… currently reading the dark tower books but my absolute favorite story of Mr Kings is The Man In the Black Suit. Something about it that reminds me of myself growing up… I would love to meet him and I would love to have one of my many books of his signed.

I've been upset with Stephen since he made us wait twenty years for the end of Roland's story. That was unimaginably painful.

If he wasnt an author to vent his bent he would certainly be an intelligent, hard to catch diabolical human.
