The Authorization Group field is very important in company code segment of GL master data. Through this field we can control the Master data activity like creation of General Ledger Master data in SAP, Change of General Ledget Master data in SAP, Display of General Ledger Master data in SAP, Lock of General Ledger Master Data in SAP, Display log of Changes of Master data of General Ledger in SAP etc.
The very important thing in this regard is to control the values through Authorization Object F_SKA1_BES in role.
The roles are created in SAP through transaction code PFCG and in this transaction code you can assign different object to role like transaction code, FIORI object, reporting etc.
Authorization group field is also in Open and close of Posting Period through which you can control who will post the transactions in which peirod.
