Welcome to Episode 7 of @AUTHORSCHAT-andmore-rc8uc with Roger Wilson-Crane, self-published author of CERTIFIED - a memoir in the category of 'humourous memoir', for which Roger has now won many awards, the most prestigious being 'The Mark Twain Award'.
This is Roger's first novel and he has excelled brilliantly in writing a three-part novel CERTIFIED - One Unexpected Birth… One Hapless Wedding… One Bizarre Dea_th…
And as he says 'There's comedy in most situations, isn’t there?
And there certainly is.
The story takes us from a teenage lad living in a Yorkshire village, spending time with his friends, growing up, drinking in all the local pubs on a Friday night, meeting famous household-named actresses, while hitching a lift, to the bright lights of London and back to the countryside.
The richness of the story is abundant in the everyday life of our main character as he straddles time over three major events in his life. It's the self-deprecation of our main man which is so endearing and believable, but sometimes the escapades he gets himself into cannot be for real.
It reads as a movie script - and hopefully one day it will be turned into a cinematic triumph.
As Roger says about himself 'My passion for writing has always been with me, stemming from writing and directing a school play at the tender age of 14. This enthusiasm resurfaced in late 2019 when I decided to take a reduced role in my company, giving me more time to write the stories that had been whirling around my head for over 20 years.
