I had toe walking (not a joke) because I was pretending to be a wolf, hand flapping because I was pretending to be tails the fox from a video game I also pretending to fly like a bird. I put my toys in a row because voices told me the autism specialist liked it. she patted me on the head so everytime I saw her, I arranged the toys in a row. In grade school, I heard on tv that things are funnier if you tell jokes with a poker face its funnier, so I did that and my teacher said, oh, you have autism. "it was a joke," I told him. I got in trouble for many things I had no control over in school, but the things I did on purposely, I got away with a lot of things that I really should have got punished for. note:I don't have all the wording linked and some of them are out of order so you might not have a clear understanding of what I'm trying to explain... I am not neurotypical

What if a child does this about 10% of the time?

10% sounds like a choice, if the child is able to correct with cueing, I wouldn’t be concerned. Sometimes it’s environment or surface, some kids just like the feel. You can always do a gentle stretch into dorsiflexion to make sure there isn’t a bit of tightness in the heel cords.

Im 26 dude and mostly do it at home not in shoes anymore or as much. Have 2 kids served for 6 years in military. Work in boots all day in a shop with concrete floors. I feel fine. No pains no weakness in my feet, shins, knees or legs. Im strong and healthy. I wouldnt worry. I only looked this up because I'm bored and wondered what youtube thought of it. We are all different in our own way. I also step on way less toys and Legos on the soft part of my foot so thiers that lol. I also run faster on my toes.
