Wow! Nice! I was manually doing this! So the shift key was the secret! This habit of not reading the software manual...

"Both the frames and the content have been carefully arranged to correspond with one another". This could do with further explanation.

Hi @Alan-muscat, Thank you for your comment. In the example I use in the video I've taken the time and made sure that the picture frames on the page are in sequential order, both in their position on the page, left to right and on the layers panel bottom to top. The first picture frame on the left is in position 1 and is positioned at the bottom of the layer stack in addition to being the first frame on the left and therefore is first in the sequence. I have then also gone through and labeled or renamed the images I want to place into the frames, ordering them from 1-80. so essentially 'Both the frames and the content have been carefully arranged to correspond with one another" - I've basically I've taken the time to make sure my frames and the images I'm placing into them are in the correct/ sequential order. You don't need to do this for specifically Auto Flow to work, the images from the place images panel will import regardless of order or labelling, however if you want the images to flow into the picture frames in a specific order, this is something you'll need do. Hopefully that helps/ makes sense. If it helps I have a downloadable copy of the artwork on Gumroad which is free, though you'll need to use your own pictures for licensing reasons.

@@benjaminviney Thanks Ben, that is very clear. And I think I will download that file to check it out too.

1) Can you re-order multiple pages in Affinity Photo just like you can in Publisher (in order to export the multipage PDF re-ordered the way you want from there)? 2) Is there a way to "tell" Publisher to automatically make space when you drag a page in between 2 other pages, and move all pages to the right giving them a, new, +1 page number? (So if I drag page 10 into the space between page 1 and 2 - so page 10 will now become page 2 - then all following pages will get a +1 page number; so old page 2 will become page 3, old 3 will become page 4 and so on)?? 3) I opened a multipage document from Affinity Photo, in Affinity Publisher. But on the Pages sidebar in AD, I get this notice: "This is an artboard based document. To use multiple pages and master pages you must convert youe artboards to spreads"... What does that even mean?? I'm JUST trying to make a multipage PDF with mostly photos, but want to add sone text in certain pages too. Do I have to use Publisher for this or, can I do it just the same in Affinity Photo?? THANKS!!

I hope you can help. There is no forum I can find (really need one). I got AutoFlow working. But it only flows down the right page of the spread completely avoiding the left side of the page. How do you fix that? So AutoFlow flows properly through both side of the page?

Hi @WilliamGarrisonArts, thank you for your comment. Auto flow will replicate the exact layout you use above. This includes the text frames position on a spread. If you put your first text frame on the right hand page/ spread it will replicate its position on all subsequent pages, only creating text frames on the right hand page only. Instead, either create your first spread with a text frame on both pages of your spread and link the two frames together. Then you can insert your text, hold shift and click the red triangle to flow your text as in the video above. This will now replicate the spread layout of two text frames on every page. Hope this helps.

@@benjaminviney That did it. I just really needed to know what it was called. Linked Text Boxes. Quick YT search and boom, all set. Thank you for your speedy response. I love this software SO much more than InDesign. I struggled for years trying to get InDesign to work for me. In a matter of hours Affinity is rocking it out. Thank you again.

Does auto flow work with different size pdfs being placed in various different locations on multiple page layout? Ie Could I make a document with ad spots over day 24 pages and list or name the documents 1xxx, 2xxx and have them flow to all the correct slots?

Hi Chris, Yes it should work. The only thing to watch out for would be to make sure your frames are preset to scale to max/ min fit accordingly. Sounds like an interesting project.

For some reason Hold+shift results in text being threaded only on side of the spread

Hi User-So6zp, When flowing text in text frames over double page spreads it will replicate the design of the text frames across both the left and right hand pages on the newly generated pages. If you link a new text frame on both pages it should replicate the design.

@@benjaminviney I have the same problem. I pasted text and it flows onto pages 3, 5, 7, and 9, but pages 2, 4, 6, and 8 have no text flow. I cannot find anything in the Help menu to show me how to "link a new text frame on both pages." How is that done? I didn't have that problem in Version 1.
