Great to hear! For me, the real game changer is the Silence Detection Options - being able to dial in the padding means you can be really aggressive with the sound level, while the other settings allow you to easily omit things like coughs and false starts.

Is it possible to save your work and come back to it later, like if you're cutting down a file and can't finish it at that time so you can open it another time and finish it then? Or does all the editing have to be done and exported in one sitting?

Yep, you have the ability to save the edits you've made (it saves as a JSON file) and then re-load it using File > Open File with Saved Timeline. Select the video file first, then you'll be prompted to select the JSON file.

I know this is unrelated to the video, but I have a question. Does Adobe Audition have a bug that makes it impossible to correctly detect silence in an hour-long video? Because that's what's happening to me. I even tried updating Audition and removing as much background noise as humanly possible, but neither of those did anything...

Yes, this bug has been around for a while - although personally, I haven't seen it in the latest version. The work around is to scan the file in 20 minute selections.

This is nice. But is there a way that you can export it so that it just has the cuts and nothing deleted? What I mean is that, for some videos I work on I would cut the short silence areas and then speed ramp the silence part up 2x-3x speed, then ripple delete, so that the video looks continuous rather than constant jump cuts.

There is - it's a checkbox in the settings. You should also try out the Timebolt plugin for Premiere - it will make the cuts and change the color of the silent clips in the timeline. That means you could select all the silent clips at once and apply the speed ramp in one go. It's odd. Timebolt doesn't have a scrolling bar on mine. So, I can't download it or see the timeline.

That's unusual. Try using the Page Up and Page Down keys on your keyboard to scroll through the timeline. This should help you navigate without a scroll bar. Let me know if that works for you!

It's good except it keeps adding this "bzzzt" sound in my actual editor once timebolt makes the re edit. So it essentially gets rid of one problem and creates another

@@ManexFX This is what I like about TimeBolt - you can be really aggressive with the audio levels to get rid of things like breaths and false starts without cutting into speech. They also have a monthly subscription option that might be more affordable.

🙌 And what if you need to remove silence from a variety of media using Audition. If there is any option to apply directly from the timeline directly to Audition 👉 (not one, but many clips) 👈 Now, as far as I understand, there is such an opportunity only with each individual clip. Make a lesson, very lacking for integrity 🤷‍♂️
