Auto Lite Calcium Carbide Miner's Lamp 

I made this video to show how a calcium carbide lamp functions. I noticed after viewing this that I replaced the wingnut that retains the reflector on backwards, but it doesn't matter to the operation of the lamp.
For those curious, when I first got this fixed and working, I placed enough calcium carbide to fill the bottom about a third full, and filled the water tank all the way. This amount of fuel, burning with a 1-2 inch flame, lasted over 90 minutes. In complete darkness less flame would be needed, maybe just a half inch, and with a full load of calcium carbide would likely last at least three hours, probably more.
Before you ask, this lamp is not for sale. I am giving it to someone special.
