To save parts count couldn't you have just flip flopped the phototranny with the resistors and do what you wanted without adding second stage?? Fun project. Phototranny is probably faster than a LDR or cadmium sulfide sensor.
@@AllAmericanFiveRadio Sorry I was not clear enough. Keep the polarity of the photo transistor correct of course. Wire it above the resistors of the voltage divider. When the photo trans turns on it will pull the voltage high to turn on gate of IGBT and the IGBT now turns on as you wanted. No need for inverter circuit add on. Try it. Great useful circuit. THANX
