Thanks for posting. I have an Auto Ordnance M1 Carbine as well as a 1943 Underwood. Fantastic weapon and the Auto-Ordnance replicates the original very well. I rarely break either mine down completely when I clean them, but this is a great video for those that need to cross reference.

Well Well!!! I could've used this video a while back!!! I broke mine down all the way to bolt disassembly. I've got a "Plainfield Machine" carbine made a few miles from my childhood home in New Jersey. It's a miracle I got it back together without losing one of those tiny bolt springs. I bought several boxes of Armscor ammo that I'm afraid to use. I've heard reports (possibly unfounded) of that ammo blowing up carbines. Sure hope that's not true.

I don't think the carbines blowing up is common but with the 1903's before 1918 if I remermber right tend to go boom

Nice video! I've have a new manufacture AO carbine I bought a few years ago, but have had trouble with it not going into battery after 6 or so rounds. I though it just needed a break in period, but I'm still having the same issue. Just bought some Wolf springs to replace the original spring and hoping it solve the reliability issue I am having.

Great video - except I couldn't get step 9 done (removing slide) for love nor money. Mine just doesn't want to detach. Any additional clues would be much appreciated...

Did you ever figure it out? I’m having the same issue lol

Yes, I did. Important to first get the slide into the correct position for it to release. Then I encouraged it to go where it needed to by use of a slot-head screwdriver to lever it. The steel is quite springy and not difficult to move around by flexing it. I think this is more of an issue with the AO because the steel is relatively new; and would explain why slides practically fall off the vintage milsurp items.@@AJCzarkowski

I have your m1 carbine, what can be the cause of occasional stove pipe stoppages?… (I reload my ammo )

Hey Guys! I purchased your Carbine a few years ago. I have found a defect in it that I had to address, this defect is in most all M1 carbines all the way back to 1942, below the feed ramp there is a lug cut out, this cut out causes Miss feeds and jams, when the gun is in operation this cut out allows the mag front to drop 1/8th inch causing the front of the bullet too drop and catch on bottom of feed ramp causing the Jams and miss feeds please address this, could cost someone life Thanks!

I would like to know if an original 4-rivet upper handguard will fit this rifle. I've seen where no original parts will fit the Thompson, just wondering if it's true for this rifle or not.

Geez those bolts must be made out of some SOFT metal if the locking lugs look that worn on a new gun
