I just bought and installed the T9 in my car yesterday for the price and how easy it is to do yourself it’s a awesome choice and upgrade to have if you don’t have a rear view camera also you con with the dark road vision is going to come from every rear view camera system no matter how good it is because lenses only have so much visible capabilities so that’s something that’s to be expected work for Amazon so I see it everyday especially delivering in the country with no lights and dirt roads
Great review! Never gave it any thought to run the wires in the headliner, like it. My question is I would rather use the mirror as a mirror and have it activate only when I put it in reverse along with full use of the clock as I dont have one. Is this possible or do you have to fiddle around turning it on at startup?
Can anyone please answer these questions? 1. Will this mirror along with the 4 different attachments it comes with work on a 2018 Ford Transit cargo van? 2. Is there a way to turn on the mirror (for example by tapping the mirror or otherwise) when the ignition is off? 3. Does rain interfere with the rear view camera in any way?

Hi Know Me, thanks for the question and thanks for watching! Unfortunately, this rear view mirror does not have voice recognition. However, there is a gps attachment unit that is sold separate. I did not purchase the gps unit so I cant offer any thoughts or opinions on it at the moment. But if it’s something you’re interested in, I can buy it and post a quick review on it.
Great review dude! One of the mosre in depth reviews ive seen yet. I didnt realize the screen brightness had that automatic setting. Does it also work to dim the screen a bit at night time? That's a feature I have been hoping to find in a digital rearview mirror, is ability to dim down a bit at night time. (Would be cool if they added a headlight input wire like aftermarket stereos, to dim the screen when headlights are turned on, but thats just wishful thinking lol). Cheers!

The screen brightness adjust automatically and it will also dim the screen at night time. I think it does so pretty efficiently since I rarely find myself wishing the screen was brighter or darker, if that makes sense. Hope that was helpful and thanks again for watching!!!!
Is your unit still working because I bought mine and I didn't notice until after I bought mine that there's a warning that states: make sure you check the reviews because this item is frequently returned . The reviews are saying that it stops working after 3 to 6 months!! Please be honest and tell us if your unit is still working, CORRECTLY.
The only con to me is that the front facing camera isn't really made for NA but instead for EU vehicles/region since most European vehicles the steering wheels are RHD! If this had the front facing camere on the left side therein being more suited for NA & vehicles that are LHD this would have been perfect!
Hey Cancerperez, good question. Unfortunately, I have not found a good solution for integrating the T9 with an existing backup camera. However, you likely have one of two options. The first would be to install the T9 next to your current backup camera at the rear of your vehicle and wire it as suggested to the rearview that comes with T9. The downside to this approach would be the loss of any current functions you have in the oem rearview in your Highlander, i.e. universal garage door opener ect..., as it is not a feature that is offered on the T9. Another downside would be the aesthetics, not sure how you would feel about having two backup cameras protruding from your tailgate. Now, the other approach would be to install the T9 in-place of your current backup camera. The downside to this approach would be that you would loose the camera feed going to your cars head unit and the T9 would serve as your only backup camera. I was faced with a similar choice and chose the latter and I absolutely love the T9. However, this is your choice and its going to come down to whats more important to you, I dont think theres a right or wrong choice. You may prefer to have your backup camera show up on your cars head unit and if thats the case you are probably better sticking with your current setup. . Just got this set up. Why does the mirror have to be connected to constant power fuse and power on with ignition switch fuse? Why both? Also, fuse taps don’t fit my Chevy Silverado.
On Ignition power is used to keep the camera from running when the vehicle is shut off. Otherwise it would drain the battery overnight. Constant power is used so the camera date and time doesn't get reset every time you shut off the ignition.
@@TheMugrad2002have you ever run into situations where it completely drains the battery and you couldn’t start the car after a long period of parking days?
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!! Yes, the live camera feed stays on the rear view mirror while you are driving. However, you do have the option of turning off the camera feed and allowing the mirror to function as a traditional rearview mirror.
I was looking into getting one these added to my car. When the screen is off how well can you see objects behind you. Does this enhancement still works as a regular rear view mirror when the screen is not activated
Hi Klearly Kim, thanks for watching and thanks for the question! Yes, you can still see everything you would normally see out of your rearview mirror when the camera feed to the LCD is off. It actually works really well and I've never had an issue with the rearview when the camera feed is off, so you will have no issues using this as a standalone rearview mirror.

Unfortunately, I have not found a way to disable the startup and shutdown chime. also, to my knowledge is there is no way to remove the Auto-Vox logo. Although, the chime is slightly annoying you quickly get used to it and you hardly notice it over time.
It's a plug and play, there is only one red wire but you don't have to connect it unless you want reverse grid lines which are useless. I connected this in under 2 hours with no help or instructions, it's super straightforward and easy to connect! The hardest part is hiding the cables to make it look professional but other than that it's a breeze!
No, I decided to take the path of least resistance and opted not to connect the reverse wire. I’ve had this installed since May and I am still happy with my decision to skip the reverse wire. I use the unit more as an enhanced rearview mirror than I do as a backup camera, if that makes since. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!
