Great and informative video! I bought the Ottocast C5SE and it seems like the exact same product from the looks of it. I´m experiencing random reboots as well so I guess this is the same issue that you're describing with the voltage regulation. If possible could you please let me know hoew to get the firmware you used to fix the the problem. I think it would work on my device as well since they do look identical. Thanks!
Always something for something. Tomtom and Garmin are more expensive, but they're independent devices, which can be used without any cell phone. This one here, requires additional phone to work I believe (at least you didn't mention anything else). So in the end, you can also use your cell phone on a holder, and it will be quite similar to presented device. Anyway, a good episode showing another available option 👍
The problem with the phone is that it's camera will brake from motorcycle vibrations. So unless you don't care I wouldn't do it even with a vibration dampener (they remove 20% ish only). Garmin sucks big time, and TomTom is expensive and very outdated. And nothing other than phone don't have real time speed cameras and police warnings. Hence this device here makes sense
I've been using the sp cinnect system with the damper for the past 4 years (samsung galaxy s10 and s23 ultra) in a fairly vibrating ducati monster and a small vespa in very bad road conditions and my camera is working fine.
When the navigation gps companies keep selling maps and want to keep selling you subscribe fees to get access to all the features and maps then keep your phone in your pocket and use one of these on your motorcycle. Why do you want to break your phone and pay two subscribe fees, one to your phone company and a second to your gps navigation maker? Why do you want to spend a fortune on vibration mounts that only work partially in the long term with expensive new phone stabilizer cameras? Spending more than 1,000 on a silly phone. Get a cheap phone that has gps and one of these.
@@matiasnruffa everything depends on vibrations and the phone itself. I also use SP Connect, without the dampener (even though) I have one, maybe next year I will start using it). One can always buy another, cheap phone, which is clear (no stupid apps, just different navis), has godd battery and brightness, maybe a bit waterproof, and use it just to navigate.

The phone survival rate is much better with vibration dampeners but it's far from 100% - and the last thing I would like on my motorcycle trip is a broken camera.
