It's like on the one hand, this whole idea of Frankenstein-esque Autobot parts is very disturbing to him, but on the other, he sees the value of the project for saving lives. After all, Wheeljack is the mad scientist here, and is said to injure himself with his own experiments.

@@arbetor12They have had a general anesthesia since towards the tail end of World War 2. Yes, the drugs used to induce a state of unconsciousness have changed a lot since they were originally used, and can be fine tuned now to a very fine extent. In fact, it is anesthesiologists job to keep you alive during surgery and I have to thank several doctors for helping to save me!

Well, he never held anything personal against Spike, he just saw him as just another being to be conquered, though notable for being the Autonot’s friend. The Robot body and confused mind just gave him an opportunity to add another recruit, one who could’ve filled info on the Autobots, if he could manage to have enough stability to talk, while still holding control of him.

@@arbetor12 As for fitting the narrative...fair enough. But plot-wise, Wheeljack was literally right there, watching and listening with him. The minute he started hearing the conversation between Frankenstein and his assistant, and all the things they were saying, he should’ve been smart enough to realize that Spike should *not* be hearing this right now, and he should probably turn the movie off, or try to distract Spike.

It was terrific

They should redo the whole series again but with bigger budget. Hire japanese animators to update it. Eg soundwave should not be a cassette anymore and megatron should just be a tank not a pistol. Then update the look of the G1 characters in line with Transformers Bumblebee look (which was an "updated G1 look with way more detail"). People who are fans of G1 can then finally get a story that isn't told with episode out of order and that can replace the cartoon as the canon. In this new G1 re-telling, they can combine some of the stuff from the marvel comics into the series. It would sell DVD/Blueray/4KUHD Blurays by the truckload. Give them a huge budget. And release toys based on this new cartoon. What do you think? Call it "Transformers G1 ver 2.0"

@@ganados0 I looked at the toys and they look bad compared to Siege/earthrise/kingdom toys. I mean a TRUE reimagining of the G1 that looks as good as the toys in the Studio series 86 line. Got it? Toy guys want to see this. The Gundam model kits guys always get updated versions of old Univeral Century mecha. That's what I want for G1. Use expensive 3D cg if they wish like Transformers prime. (Prime is still the best big budget TF toon but I want something better since we are now in 2021) Have you seen the animation in Macross Frontier with its CG mecha battles? That's what I want in TF G1 reimagining.

@@conorburke1999 But megatron in that is a nihilistic dude who even lets optimus kill him by telling him to "get over it and just pull the trigger". No thanks I don't accept the depressed version of megatron that won't fight back. I see Megatron as a cunning bond villain that always has a backup plan to escape if he is losing and optimus is bound by knightly code to not kill unless its a last resort (like batman) which creates the excuse for letting him go so the autobots can focus on repairing their buddies and being good medics instead of pursuing the bad guys and placing them into robot prison. Maybe it's not what younger kid like but it made you respect megatron a lot more because he isn't mentally ill and like a pirate character is always thinking of how to steal things to gain power. The new toons I think were influenced by the grumpy megatron from Transformers Animated too much. The power hungry maniac of G1 is the definitive version. A combination of the joker in batman comics with a bit of darth vader. (ie being overpowered and too strong for other villains to kill him) As much as I like the WFC netflix robot designs, I think they went too far into making everyone a brooding Batman gothic style character that is depressed and weary of fighting. This gives the story a feeling of doom when in fact autobots who fight for righteous causes is how they justify their existence. If you make them all generic civilians reacting to death it becomes evangelion. I don't want evangelion. I watch enough japanese mecha shows to want another story preaching to me about war is bad. LOL I come to TF for fun.

@@dvdjkaufmn It still doesn't give them the right to kill off Prime like that while he was still popular. If they wanted a new Autobot Leader they should have just passed the torch in a more humane way. That way they won't piss off the fans that much by Killing Prime off just spells trouble.

Having a battle of the ages between mega-leaders is HARDLY an "inhumane" use of resrouces. Like.. LOL We ALL waited like 3 years to see them finally throw down. "One shall stand, one shall fall", yo. Also.. "They" have the right to do whatever "they" want with their own characters. Us simply loving the show, does not make it anything other than a glorified toy commercial, and it absolutely worked.
