You are helping me so much. Thank you for these 3D modeling videos. I had been using extrude and subtract for everything. Press pull makes things a lot easier. Now if I could learn how to make threaded fasteners in 3D I’ll be set. Oh and extrude path and so many others.

fantastic video thanks! but one question, I'm new to 3d drawing, correct me if I am wrong, but using AutoCAD mechancical seems far too complicated compared to Inventor or solid works? it is more like "ok you can do 3d drawings in Acad as well, but not really ment to used for". it is so much more work, also have seen one of your Inventor videos, way more handy program. greetings from Austria

AutoCAD is a direct modeler as opposed to the parametric ones that you mentioned. Direct modeling is actually much faster once you learn how to use the software.

hI, thank you for the video. I have a question though, when i was trying to do the arch, then trim the unneeded lines, I kept getting an error, that "edge is perpendicular to the UCS XY plane". I tried setting projmode to 0 as someone said but that didn't help. Any idea?

Hello, My doubt is on exactly on 7.13 , When u r clicking on the right for you its just changing only on the grid but for me ( I'm using MAC autocad 2024) i dont have that tab in my autocad when i'm clicking on the right the whole perspective changes, What to do in that case?

You may be clicking on right view in place of that you have to click on right UCS.

May be object was created in different plane and you are trimming in different plane. Change the UCS to align xy plane with the shape.

Check your ucs, 2d shape needs to be created in xy plane, and not on z axis.

I put the view on Front and named UCS to Front. I typed TR and hit enter to select Trim tool. Then I selected cutting edges, then I selected every line 'The circle and bottom rectangle portion' and hit enter. Then at that point I entered in a mode to trim that object. I selected the items listed in video. Then hit escape to get out of Trim. Hope that helps, I think the enter enter short cut listed in video does not enter correct mode.
