Brooke - great series, this 3D and your other series as well. I will use these as a training reference for my employees who are wanting to add/improve 3D capabilities to their resume! Thank you!
Thanks Brooke. That really cleared the air for me. I can make wiser design choices now. Have subscribed as well, and look forward to viewing more of your AutoCad series.
OMG!!!! THANK YOU, someone who explains AND speaks english..... you are bookmarked and subscribed!! God love those from India but they are way hard to usnderstand
Having problems making open top/ closed bottom box. Also with the polysolid tool is it possible to determine thickness of walls on said hollow polysolid box. I work in foam fabrication and took cadd in high school but on a much older program. Attempting to make a production layout for foam pads inside a cardboard box with a hinged top.
How to display hidden line when move the mouse into the image in "3d hidden visual style" mode at "visual style" tool bar, i can do it in autocad 2010 but i can't in autocad 2013
If the rectangle has some inside line segments, says, connecting from one side to the other, and I don't want to delete them, how would you create the extrusion from that ?
Not sure what I'm doing wrong: I followed your examples, and I have somehow managed to get the same results with a line tool as polyline: an open top and bottom box: the wireframes look identical... The thing is, I was able to make extrusions of rectangles before that ended up as a 6 sided solid. I get the impression I flipped a switch (mode) or something.
It was great help and kindoff cleared my mind. Well I have a doubt and i hope you can help me. I have created a 3D surface geometry (by mistake) and I want to convert it to a 3D solid, like I should say I want to fill it. Can you help me out?
Hi Brooke, just want to ask I am using Mac version, and I realise trying to join my lines seems to be a hit and miss thing for me, as it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't, is it a solution for that, I tried Pedit as well but the same happens, thanks
I played around, viewports set up just like yours. I made a square with 4 separate lines. I extruded it. Then I joined them in the left viewport. No change in the right viewport. But when I exploded it back to 4 lines, the right viewport changed to look like a solid. I changed the right side from 2D wireframe to conceptual and it still looked like a cube. Can you explain what happened?
