Sergio, as always very nice and useful video. I have one question, I did with Polycam point cloud and I brought it to the ReCap but the problem is resolution. The whole point cloud is super to check on the phone (android) but when I open inside the ReCap the resolution is so huge. When I zoom in to see details of the elements they just disapeard. Do you know how to fix this problem?

Hi Damir, thanks for the support. In regards to your issue - I have found that the technology regardless of which scanner is used can be problematic. Online the forums are full of people reporting issues for which there is no resolution. Polycam doesn’t rate well either. Perhaps try on a different device to see if you get better results or even play with the photometric settings. I have also found that by downloading images and then uploading them into a 3D viewer can help improve quality. All the best!

Hi Sergio, I believe if you delete points then using in revit it is very slow. someone had mentioned to take deleted points and put it into a region. that helps i think. what do you think?

Hey, thanks so getting the conversation started. It depends on the end purpose. Recap also has an optimise function for removed points which should help. However, yes - putting unwanted points into a region can help. But if you do a save-as the file size bloats…so the key is to export. I hope this helps.

Hello Sergio, I like your content, I want to know how I can give it the coordinate (0,0,0) of a point, of a point cloud model in Recap. And in turn rotate it, this in order to coordinate its position for later modeling. I hope you can help me. Thanks.

Hi Pedro. I haven't tried this - leave it with me and I will do some testing. Thanks for supporting the channel.

Hi Sergio, maybe you could explain to me the meaning of Recap Pro generated report. When you stitch scans automatically cloud-to-cloud and set the project into coordinates min 3. points with exact coordinates provided by geodesy workers, there comes such a parameter as Overall RMS, alignment confidence (in the target group). How to correctly understand these parameters. Autodesk knowledge database does not fully open this chamber of secrets. Does Recap Pro transforms the point cloud according to your coordinates and show how much it has been transformed with a help of these parameters (alignment confidence, rms). Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks for your comment. This is a general overview only for people who most likely do not need to open the "chamber of secrets" - nothing to do with stitching different scans together. All I am doing with the coordinates is locating a point that I can work with within Revit - the point cloud is not transformed - I am just nominating a point that already exists as the "new" origin. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you - Sorry, I hope you find your answer.

How do you get from point cloud to food truck? Why hasn't anyone addressed how to get the point cloud in to ReCap. This is a totally useless video if the user doesn't know how to get to this point.
@SergioBarata
@SergioBarata 6 месяцев назад
That’s because this is a video about Recap and not Revit. Once a point cloud is imported into a program you’ll need to use that programs tools to trace it. Have a look at my video on scan to BIM.

@@SergioBarata I understand it's about Recap. You, apparently, don't understand. How does someone get the point cloud INTO RECAP? How do you get from point cloud generated by Lidar in the field to being able to create the food truck, or any other object from the Lidar?

@@jonnewberry8185 that’s explained in the video. I like helping people but if you are going to be rude then you’re out of luck. Feel free to keep searching for an answer elsewhere.

@@SergioBarata actually it isn’t explained in the video. You go straight in to the food truck point cloud. There isn’t an explanation on how the point cloud gets in to ReCap. I have watched the entire video.
