Good subject for discussion. I value our HOF Autograph group here from youtube highly!

Loved the discussion, I think the one thing every customer wants (that TPAs will not provide) is transparency instead of just the blanket "questionable" letter.

Great discussion guys. When I set out to get an autograph I really do my homework and look over lots of examples that have been authenticated or in legal documents so I’m very familiar with what it should look like. If we’re educated about it, it really weeds out a lot of what’s out there. My go to authenticator is JSA simply because that is what they do. PSA is great too but JSA deals with just autographs so I trust them a bit more. Every single auto I have submitted to them has passed so far. Thanks for going over this topic

Great discussion guys. I wanted a Clemente signature but even graded, I’m still paranoid. As Mike said, there’s a certain level of knowing- even slabbed, it could be unauthentic. So I might be content on never buying one.

I would question the authencitity as well. Maybe one day though, when their technology, is more sufficient, and advanced.

In addition, I have one autograph of Joe DiMaggio that I got at a small show in 1986 at the Hollywood Armery in Hollywood, Florida. I have been told by at least four people that the signature is fake. He signed it right in front of me!

Look at what PSA Charges to authenticate some auto's. Just ridiculous. I had a Mantle baseball that he autographed in front of me geez maybe 25/30 years ago. Brand new ball also, just bought. I had dropped it off at a card show recently PSA was at to authenticate. I had them grade the auto and ball also in addition to authentication. I thought what the heck. It's the only one I'm probably ever going to have them authenticate & grade. $189 round trip. They gave the auto a PSA 9 Mint but the ball a 7 grade. The ball was brand new, always been in a case since auto, how does it get a 7? Glad auto considered at least a PSA 9, ha. But $189 for the round trip cost...SHEEEEZ.

The best way for me to get rid of eyeglass glare is to lower the monitor brightness.

PSA offers a "Quick Opinion" for autographs. Last time I used it they charged me $10

It is best to stay away from autographs. With all the forgeries, it is not worth the risk.

I agree. Unless I get an autograph in person, or I know someone personally had their item autographed in person, too.
