Hey Jake, these are so far the most helpful tools that Prime has come up with. I'm just starting with automation at my church. Some of the things I've liked about prime are that it is cost-effective and easy to use. The MIDI features have got me so excited and I'm still learning more about them such that I will be able to implement them better. I enjoy your videos and I have learnt quite a lot. In case anyone is wondering, you can create the MIDI cues directly from Playback app now and it's super easy to do. I just recently was able to automate lyrics through ProPresenter. Just edit Midi Cues from Playback, play the song and click + along the waveform to drop each midi cue at the right time. We don't have any lighting setup yet to test with, but we will be using lightkey for that. Hopefully I can figure all that out when the time comes!

Hey Jake! We've been using the Prime App at my church for about 8 months now and it's been working amazingly well. I've just started diving into the MIDI capabilities and I'm really stoked about the possibilities of automating aspects of our worship. The biggest challenge we'll have, from a lighting standpoint, is that our church is an old Catholic church and has tons of ambient light pouring in 98 percent of the time we're there, so I'm looking into some creative solutions that will allow us to optimize the effects of our lighting without having to rely solely on complete darkness within the sanctuary. When we get them set up though, I believe that automation will be the key. Love your videos, brother! Keep 'em coming! ヅ

Great job as usual! How about a video on how to physically set up the equipment? We use an iPad running Playback, connected to iConnect4+, running (right now) to an analog board. A video kinda like your Pro Presenter series that showed us step by step?

Yo Jake! Playback actually already updated the midi import process, you can play the track on the website and drop a cue in by pushing a button rather than having to type out the time code for each one! Love the video!

I like your reasoning on why to stick with Ableton, I'm going through the same thought process myself. Our team is on the verge of going with Ableton, but will now most likely stick with Prime. I do like the advanced control of Ableton, though Prime keeps advancing and I feel like they will catch up soon. I love how both of these apps are increasing their capacity to fully automate church services. Using Ableton to run our services seems like using a spaceship to fly across country. I hope that analogy makes sense, I just made it up lol. Here's the two biggest reasons in my mind to stay with Prime: 1) The Team Share feature is so sick. Myself or my MD can build the set in literally 3-5 minutes and the whole band can access it right away. And the can manipulate the levels to help with their practice. I love that. 2) I feel that Prime is so much easier to duplicate. What I mean by that is I can train other WL's or MD's on our team in a manner of minutes. I feel that it's much more scaleable. Curious to see if you have any rebuttals as I argue with myself lol.

Automation with these three products are as follow: Prime-automates ONLY lyrics Playback-Automate lyrics AND lights Ableton-Automate lyrics, lights, AND KEYBOARD sound. one of the reasons why I use ableton than the other competitors. For a starter I would say, use Prime. then transition to playback. and lastly end up with ableton. Just putting my 2 cents out there

Hey Jake We just started up our new church and I wanted to ask... What’s a good overhead projector I can buy to use in a hall with a lot of light... we’ll mostly be hiring a community hall soon and I’m assuming it’ll have a lot of natural light in the place. So I need a projector strong enough to show the lyrics on a screen despite all that light. And also, what’s a good program I can use to display the lyrics... would it be this pro presenter program you’re using ? I’ve watched a lot of your videos and am buying an m audio for church because you guys use one. And I’ve also bought a few IEM for the band as well. Thanks for your videos, it really helps us out :)

So I’m running lights & propresenter but I’m having a hard time with having my lights conflict with propresenter cues.. any suggestions?

Maybe somehow I missed it but how do you change to the next song automatically in ProPresenter using Prime? What is the midi trigger for that?

Hey Im using Playback with and audio interface connected to my iPad. from what I read the midi cable length is normally limited to 50ft. what kinda extenders or conversion are available to go midi from the interface to Mac running lyrics that is about 300ft?

My church could greatly benefit from this since we are short staffed and have limited availability from the staff at times. But I doubt it will happen. I wish I could comment further about the issues. ☹️

We are running the Mac version of playback. We just started this week however we are unable to trigger lighting. We were using dmxis in ableton but playback won’t see the controller. How did you set this up to control lighting with lightkey?

While using playback and , playlist selection and playlist item is being. But trigger slide is not happening. Any reason?

So this only works when you are using midi for music? Not live music sorry if this is a dumb question.

Hi, can you use prime with Propresenter and lights at the same time? Has anybody tested this?

The biggest problem is still not solved: Automating Lyrics to music which does not run with timecode or click. These automations only work as long as the Band is playing with Click or timecode. Which is a bummer. There is no freestyle. I am still looking for a way to automate lyrics to a Band which plays completely free. Now THIS would be a game Changer. Anybody any suggestions?
