This Space Engineers tutorial looks at managing your base/ship inventory automatically. We use sorters, whitelist, blacklist and drain-all features to send components, ores and ingots to their own cargo containers. No scripts or mods are used. Video is broken down into 3 demonstrations so don't back out after the first one! Last one is a biggie!

you have the best tutorials on youtube, that is no joke. I have learned a lot. Others tell you what to do but don't explain how to. I watch your tutorials a lot when I want to go further and expand my game. Please! keep it going.

Thank you very much D! That's really kind of you! If there's anything you'd like to see a tutorial on just let me know. I need some more ideas haha!

Now I just need to figure out how to set up a large container as an “overflow” for the rest. But this was very helpful!

This was super helpful also VERY easy to follow unlike a lot of tutorials I've seen on sorters. You should do a let's play of space Engineers, I would love to watch more Space Engineers content from your channel!

Thanks Curtis. I've thought about doing a Let's Play but it's that long since I played SE I'd have to watch my own tutorials first haha. It might still happen.... Maybe. Thanks for commenting and best wishes to you Curtis.

Please Brad, do a season on space engineers, all the comments im seeing are exactly how I feel about your tutorials (FANTASTIC!) I think a tutorial season would be the best on youtube, and believe me, over the years ive watched a lot of weeks of tutorials/seasons ;)

I've got 2 playlists of tutorials. I've ran out of things to cover! Haha. The first playlist is like a short playthrough where a new player can play along with the tutorials. Second playlist is a bit more specific for slightly more advanced stuff. The tutorials are very popular but there sadly isn't that much else I feel needs covering. I think if you can follow and use all of these tutorials, then you'll have a pretty good understanding of the basics/middle game. I've moved on for the minute but will come back to it occasionally to see how the game develops in the future. I appreciate yours and everyone's kind words! Very much!

Loved it! Thanks, mate! I'm just starting, with SE, and am finding the initial inventory management a chore to learn. This will help me down the road, for sure, but it hints at things I could probably be using already though I'm only 10 hours in.

My dude, you've the accent of a northerner. Not quite geordie, certainly not a daft mackam. You from county Durham? Darlington maybe. I'm looking for a solution for automatic inventory management and I am damn proud that the man teaching me to do it is from the mighty northeast. Take care my dude, thanks for the video and UTFB!

Thank you! I'm pleased the video helped. I'm nearer to Durham than Newcastle. But my accent isn't as strong as my neighbours anyway. I think because my parents weren't 'broad' and I've travelled quite a bit. Proud to be a Northener though!

Thank you. I'm sorry I'm not keeping up to date with SE. But I'm happy you're finding something useful in these videos. I really do appreciate the feedback. Best wishes to you.

Great video and very informative. Do you have any suggestions on creating an efficient inventory sorting system for a base? Thanks!

Thanks Hameed. I'm afraid I don't have any specific mods I can recommend. I've lost touch with where the mods are up to with SE these days. I'm really sorry.

Great video! I have found a problem tho. The sorter seems to have a kinda small inventory when draging items, resulting in a long waiting time when emptying large amounts of items. Do anyone know a workaround? Cheers

Hey, you found a way to stop assemblers getting filled with ingots? after a few different production requests it is filled with leftover ingots and cant pull the ingots it needs anymore.
@TallmanBradGameplay
@TallmanBradGameplay 3 года назад
You could use sorters to send ingots to their own containers. As long as you have a return system in place it'll allow them back when the assembler pulls them.
@timmyingelbrecht6977
@timmyingelbrecht6977 3 года назад
@@TallmanBradGameplay yes; currently my assembler is directly attached to refinery, i think my refinery is filling its own inventory with ingots, then the assemblers inventory and when both are full it sends it to the containers. So, as you suggest, pulling the ingots from refinery to container and then let the assembler pull what is needed might help. But i think eventually it will still fill up, but a lot slower though.
@TallmanBradGameplay
@TallmanBradGameplay 3 года назад
Too many ingots means not enough storage haha! maybe turn the refinery off for a bit?
