Ask the Picker that's working in the freezer how he or she feels about staying in the cold continuously without getting out of the cold for a few minutes.I worked in a freezer for 17 years and I can tell you that without breaks from the cold,it wouldn't work.You'd probably have to go full automation,because you wouldn't have anyone wanting to work in those conditions.

Cool concept in theory but not any more efficient than driving a single jack with all the labels you need to pick at the ready. If your just going to use automated jacks then just put in a conveyor belt and have multiple pickers pick in that location.

I agree with some that human workers are the most dangerous. Aside human error, there's malice and for those of us who work in Distribution Warehouses, we know there's some people out there who are not all right up in the head. Some will dart at you as soon as they see you like you're some sort of target. Other's will purposely cross your path at the last second just to see if you stop or to block your way. I would totally agree with something like this being implemented in our warehouse but I'm afraid that any little break we get from our job (or anything that makes it a tad easier on us) will be compensated for by the company with the production standards being lowered even more!

Love to see how it responds when the order calls for 30 cases of water...does it show up without the pallet to pull the pallet from the rack or no do I still need to pull 30 cases of water.

looks like a safe solution to voice picking to me a 100% pick rate which is about 160 to 180 items per hour which is all good i have done and done 120% but with no regard to my health and the safety of others and try doing that while forklifts are replenishing in front of you and you have to wait for them to move which sets back a pick rate and may cause the loss of a job well the way i see it this system does not allow that it forces warehouse management to create a better work flow

THE COST OF TRAINING WORKERS WILL MAKE THIS SYSTEM NOT COST EFFECTIVE,,,,MAKE THE WORKER WORK HARDER BY BEING ON FOOT ALL DAY !

lol they tried this at my whare house but it was to big an they could not get it to work after 2 years of trying.

The point of technology is to alleviate labor to the point where no one has to work.

this is so companies can hire untrained , low paid laborers . not cool robots !

In any case, you don't have to worry about it for much longer. In 5 to 10 years (10 years at most) the entire job will be done by robots.

I dont like this Idea with people walking inbetween. I would not agree to this because those machines dont have brains like a forklift driver. To many things can go wrong, like the truck that comes right behind the worker at 1:44 , the sensor could go out and then the machine would just keep going and not realize theres a person/machine in front and BOOM! Slight malfunctions can lead to the collapse of an entire warehouse and kill everyone in it. Just hire professional/good drivers!

Seems more like it makes your job easier. Less skill, less changes in direction. I also work in a distribution warehouse and it seems like a lot of energy for the pickers can be saved by having a continuous pace rather than having to drive, stop, get off, pick up, put down, walk around, stop, get on the truck, drive, repeat. With the robot you just walk, pick, walk, pick. And it doesn't have to be mindless. You are allowed to think about other things.

the video failed to show a supervisor or manager tell you to walk faster pick faster, so many things wrong with this system not only you have to do the lifting but your walking everywhere this company have lost the plot

For this everything has to be set up with replenishment location so the picker can have access to first level inventory. I’m assuming a human does the replenishments lol

I work in a place like this too and what's insane is seeing the people driving the way they do. Horrific accidents involving these machines happen every day across the country caused almost exclusively by human error or malice. With computers at the wheel, a lot less can go wrong, and if something does go wrong it just shuts off.

How will it know if they merch is about to tip over 😑
