hey buddy, its cool that you still use sketchup, while you also like the ue and blender. same for me. sketchup with stile builder and cost inspector is still gamechanger. you rule Dr. Geiss
I work with road barriers at work, and i use the component part of Profile Builder, but the corners allways messing up. Idk how to use it where it does the corners perfectly
If I was working on multiple files at the same time and make the assembly in a separate sketchup file, will profile builder automatically update in the all the other files or should I reopen my files?
Is the spacing of the posts set to be equidistant or is it the distance it discovers and sets it as a constant in the Profile? Also, he mentioned before that some of the more advanced features (i.e. what happens at the corners) can be edited in the Profile after this automatic creation is done. This is a big huge time-saver and well worth the cost.
I'm going to have to dig into this more in a future video - I think you can adjust the way the spacing is set in multiple different ways. You can definitely go in and change conditions like the corner in objects that have already been created. I could probably start a channel just for Profile Builder tutorials :) - Thanks Dave!
I believe that you can adjust the settings so that those would either follow the slope of the ground or stay flat. Haven't played with that function too much yet though...
@@Thesketchupessentials Yes, struggling to find that particular setting. No video tutorials on the web so suspect that it cannot be achieved which is a real pain. I use Vali Architects instant fence plugin for many fences types but cannot create a new fence with that script, only amend an existing one...
hi i like your tutorials very much. thanks for creating and sharing. can you also create a tutorial for sketchup - vray 360 degree panorama rendering with appropriate light settings? i have been trying to create panorama but the image is just too dark and almost nothing is visible. thanks.
I've gotten this request a few times now - if I do create it, it will be on my other channel - ru-vid.com - Try going into your settings tab and adjusting your exposure to see if that helps with your brightness - don't run the individual light sources way up. Hope this helps a bit!
Do you know of any extension that can quantify an aluminum window. Output would be glass area and cost. Which Aluminum profiles to use and how many lengths of those profiles do i need?
This extension, in conjunction with Quantifier, would probably be your best bet. Generally speaking unless you're a window manufacturer, I've generally seen windows priced either by the unit or by the SF, not by the aluminum profile length. Are you manufacturing windows from aluminum?
Hmm, made a fence, saved the assembly. Open the assembly and none of the changes I did to it is saved? Have tried several times to modify it, clicked on the save button - but no ?? What the heck am I doing wrong, please ..... weird. After closing SU 16 and restarted it, it works? Very weird
Hello, so i have sketchup pro 2017 windows 10 running on bootcamp mac intel hd and i have a problem with the selection tool, it s very slow and takes time to respond, any idea how to fix this? Thanks!
You can select multiple lines and create a component that way - as far as I'm aware, you can't make a single line into a component, but I've also never tried it...
@@Thesketchupessentials It's ok justin it was my fault, the next thing is I was going to ask if there is any alternative to placemaker ? even online would do because the road I created just does not work properly with bends. thanks for the reply
